what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

£1000 more than the older ones! Would love to see a comparison
Yes the price made my eyes water when I saw it too.

Give the Clear MG's a listen to when you go demo the new Utopias, I'm actually loving mine more each day and got over the feeling I spent way too much money on a single pair as I feel they are worth it. Make sure to listen to them where they have been broken in properly as you will know Focal headphones need breaking in to sound their best and same for their studio monitors.

Before anyone says it's me breaking in it's not, because when I get new sound gear I listen to make sure they work only and leave them for days running to break them in (where I can't hear them) and then come back and they do sound different and more right, just need a good ear and a track you know well to hear once they break in right as you heard them when demoing them.

The Clear MGs and my Elegias sounded rough when I got them new out of the box, but I knew with Elegias as I owned them in the past that they need breaking in to sound right and why I purchased a new set of them, the Clear MGs gave me that same fright out of the box but they settled down after about 20-40 hours of playing loud music threw them, same I had to do with my studio monitors too, my neighbours love me when I buy new studio monitors , but I do it at sensible times as they know and many say hey that sounds nice what you are playing, I do take it as a hint it's loud and apologise and explain why I need to do it for a couple of days to make sure they work correctly and sound right.

The Moon Audio review is almost describing how the original clears sounded like compared to the clear MGs to me, seems like Focal have changed their sound signature to a warmer more forward and more 3D sound with more depth, that's basically how I heard the differences between the clear and clear mgs because the originals just sounded too sharp to me and a bit more metallic high end.

Think the OG Utopia was Drew @ Moon Audios favourite headphones. Here's his review (but in written form). https://www.moon-audio.com/focal-utopia-2022-headphone-review. Interestingly says he still has a preference to the OG in the verdict.

As posted in GD i had these delivered yesterday ,still have the Denon ahd2000 and that's it ,i would like to try an open next, one with a known big soundstage akg 702 ? I work part time so cant justify mega bucks but as my interest is rekindled who knows.
My hipdac2 is due today so really looking forward to testing the Beyers ,the laptop output isnt going to do them justice but even from this i was getting some nice low end textures and vocals had meat on the bones Edit ,from a beyer open box dealer so a lot cheaper than rrp

Would be nice if it had LDAC Bluetooth

Yup a huge fail there, I did tweet them asking if they can add that in via a firmware update to the BT, all BT devices can be updated via a connection via BT but only if enabled by the company or not fused off to prevent BT security issues.

Bought some wireless headphones for the PC, thought I would give the Corsair HS55 Wireless Core cans a go, and they, for the money are really good!

Not the worlds best, but again, for the price..

I bought a pair of Sony XM5 headphones this weekend.

I was in richer sounds and they offered them at £285 to beat Amazon’s price.

Couldn’t resist. Amazing audio.

Popped into the Apple Store just now to listen to their AirPod Max headphones and although they are good, they are t as good as the Sonys and are more expensive.

Anyone recommend an external sound card/DAC for my headphones.

I am using a Creative G6 bit I am having issues with it and I am probably going to return it.

Although the G6 has 7.1 surround, I literally never use it, I tried it in PUBG and didn't like it and cannot see myself ever wanting it, so just stereo is fine.

I nearly purchased last time a fiio EK10, or other suggestions?
