what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

I kept it in the end, it still plays up but it not too much bother to disconnect and reconnect the usb every now and then Vs the hassle of returns.
Ah ok I understand, I'm in two minds whether to buy a G6 to pair with my DT880 pro's strictly for PUBG. I've read good things about the G6 picking up other players steps/sounds and directional audio too. I'm having trouble pinpointing where shots/sounds are coming from especially if other players are in the same building as me.

That’s sort of half the game then.

I’ve been using onboard audio for PUBG for a week now and it’s sooo bad but I just haven’t gone into the loft to get the USB cable for my DAC.

A good DAC is worth the money.

Go buy this https://www.whathifi.com/chord/dave/review

A good quality dac, headphone amp is defo worth it with top headphones absolutely agree with the above^^^

I run Meridian 818v3 dac into Meridian prime headphone amp with its own dedicated prime psu upgrade.

I use a Sony DAP, tablets Android and pc all digital via Bluetooth (LDAC codec highest setting), USB digital highest bitrate settings and bit depth. All sources are 100% digital and I try avoiding Bluetooth but LDAC at highest settings is really good and some days don't notice the difference from USB depending on the files and format of course.
Interesting setup. I generally use Tidal for music items which my dac has the ability to decode and render MQA. Then again also love my vinyl source also.

I'm starting to hate my HD600s - the mastery never mind getting hold of anything like lossless versions of music is on a decline and with my setup they pick out every imperfection :( absolute bliss when you have something well produced at a decent bitrate/lossless though.

Disaster. After so many years my Wardmod custom cable has broken :(

Have messaged Wardmod IG to see if I can order a new cable, might go for a funkier colour scheme this time round.

A way to fix that. If you can't get new ends, I'm surprised you can't send them back for them to replace the connectors for you at a charge.

I'd rather replace the end I think, actually that's a thought, I can do that myself too so will see where I can get some good quality ends from and go from there thanks!

It does not look like Wardmod does these cables any more, last post on social is 10 months old :(

Edit*
A fiver on eBay, perfect!

£82 for a cable! :o The wardmod was £36 if I remember right! I suppose the terminations appear to be more robust though. I'll give the DIY connector replacement a go first for a fiver, then check those out if I fail.

That looks alright actually, although no plug connector for Sennheiser it seems. I will DIY the plugs on the wardmod cable and see how that goes I reckon. eBay plugs ordered:

On paper they do look good, but reading some reviews I can tell right away that the outright balance of the HD650 would make me not like the 660S2 because of the "different" sound!

Example:

Would have thought you'd go Fidelio if you were a basshead though!

For me the smooth and balanced nature of the HD650 means I will probably die still owning them :p

Not a huge bass head, though I have always felt that the bass disappears on Senns a bit too early.

I've owned the 600, 650 and 660S and to be honest, the 650's are the ones I remember the most. I just get itchy when I see new versions.

Seen the Fidelio X3 are £179 and am quite tempted though.

Might chuck my 660s on the MM for £250 and see if there are any takers.

You know what, The 650s are good enough to spend some cash on I guess, sod it I'll get those £82 cables and DIY the wardmod ones and keep them as spare. Would be nice to have a new short custom cable too so a metre for just desktop use would be really ideal vs the coiled 2m I have with the Wardmod.

For the money they're asking for those 660S2s, there are far too many other good headphones in that price bracket. It's planars vs dynamic, but I'd rather get the Edition XS for that kind of money.

If it were my £500 you really can't look past the HD600/6XX for neutral reference sound and put the rest toward a good DAC and amp.

I really want to try the HD800's for gaming, but I just can't stomach the cost.

Have a look second hand, I see that there are a pair of HD800s on eBay for £800 ish.

Audio equipment is usually a great second hand purchase.
