Lovely sound, worth every penny.

Couldn't of said it better myself.

I had some HD555s, but found them uncomfortable much prefer my HD465s honestly can't tell the difference in the sound quality

I have some cheap Sennheiser's with a mic atm. Im looking at getting HD555's or HD595's but can't decide anyone can shed some light?

using a pair of technics rp-400 apparently.

Cost me around £10, and they're nice & comfy even for long movies, epic gaming sessions etc, probably among the best peripherals i've bought for my PC. They dont get as much use now, but back when I was younger they'd easily handle 6-7 hour TV series sessions, followed by falling asleep with them wrapped around my head in the most obscure ways :p

Sony FM wireless ones - don't think they're available anymore. Model TMR-RF815R. Had a pair for years before some chav lifted them when the flat was burgled. Insurance agency provided a replacement pair, which I'm wearing as I type. The PC is in the loft (more a sort of hut perched on the roof) and I can stand in the road - perfect sound. They're great for doing the hoovering or washing up, or boring stuff like filing. No wire to throttle yourself with. Easy to forget they're on :D

Woot :D . First person to report using eDimensional AudioFX.

I really enjoy them and it made my m8's Razer Barracuda AC-1 and Razer Barracuda HP-1 5.1 seem fairly weak in comparison to my Audio FX's and my Xtreme Gamer X-FI.

These are only for online FPS. Everything else gets pumped out the gigaworks.

HD 595s for me.

Please, please, please, please, out of principle, don't buy any crappy "gaming" brand headphones. They're not even that great for gaming to be honest. They look tacky, often have poor bass and are basically just a gimick.

Mine were expensive, a good pair doesn't need to be. The only "gaming" set of headphones I could recommend are the Icemat Siberias, they are a bargain by anyone's standards.

Yes they do look a bit tacky but my headphones are bassy as hell and perform pretty darn good in gaming even though the low price. Maybe the majority of gaming headphones aren't the best but these are pretty good for what I need and use them for. I only use them for two or three FPS multiplayer titles so there is no need for to go and rush out for Sennheiser's  as they work absolutely perfect for the whole 3 titles I use them for. As I already said, my gigaworks does the majority of the work. I just need the headphones for hearing movement and using it like a wallhack :p .

Maybe try using a pair before commenting as you are way off the mark regarding my Audio FX headphones. Do not take that as me saying Sennheiser's aren't worth it as I'll probably end up picking up a pair later on this year but the point I'm trying to make is that they are not needed ;).

Well recommended for gaming and music listening from www.head-fi.org and they don't need an amp

Good to see im not the only one ;)

Had mine now for about 2 years/excellent closed headphones so they dont disturb people around you or in the next room perfect for midnight onling gaming sessions or simply watching movies/mp3s.

There been pricey around £140-160 getting them imported but then at least you got the best closed headphones available.

You can also go for the richer sounds Senns HD595s or 650s there considered best alround headphones but there all open so everyone can hear ya.

Sennheiser PC166.

Sound is fantastic (as with any Sennheiser's :P) and the Microphone is superb. Recommend them.
