I have talktalk myself, its awful but all UK internet is poor. I hope in the next ten years we will get a better service. Across all providers. All it takes is one provider to up the service then the rest will follow

I have 20Mb virgin I get pretty constant 19Mbps download and a good low ping on games but I do think that upload speeds are pretty low on virgin as I only get about 0.75 Mbps. you would think it should 20 : 2 at least.

It should be 2Mb, I'm on 20Mb and get 2 upload. The speed was increased last year sometime so get on to them.

Mine originally was known as Nildram, then they were called Opal. Then Talk Talk became my isp. I haven't noticed a reduction in performance.

Guess it comes down to what you're used to, but I've always been more than satisfied with the speed and general performance. I am nearly always one of the first two people to join when a map changes, too.

Gaming relies on pings, not bandwidth. A 4Mbps connection can outperform a 100Mbps in games due to ping...

Virginmedia, had 20mg for nearly two years now and its only been down twice for an hour or two.Always get around 19/20meg download speed and ping is nearly always under 50.

Just got a free upgrade from virgin media and got my speed raised to 30meg

Using VM, sometimes have downtime of a night every week or two, but they said theyve found a problem in the area so maybe that will be fixed soon.

Other than that and the high price i pay for it im happy will be even sweeter when i finally get my 120Mb upgrade

Been on Virgin 100mb for the last two years in two different student houses. Back at home now on 5mb o2, which sucks even worse because the DSL line is totally trashed.

Having 100mb VM installed in two weeks stealthy style whilst my dad is out. All being well he won't even know there's a new net connection in the house

Virgin here, have to say they have been brilliant for the 3 years i have had them just got a 60Mb upgrade which works fine for my htpc connected direct to hub but my gaming pc upstairs only gets the below due to my homeplugs limiting me
