i seem to have another partition drive called system reserved which comes from my main windows hard drive and can be seen along with my other hard drives, its only 99.9mb... anyone know why i have this? and how to i get rid off?
Thanks.

If you get rid of it likely your system won't boot.

I believe it contains the Boot Manager and is required for your system to function.

That is what my understanding of it is. :)

Anyway its tiny, does it really matter? :p

I think the the Boot Manager can end up on any drive depending what you had connected when you installed Windows.

If you only had 1 drive connected then the Boot Manager and the operating system will both be put on it.

If you have 2 or more drives connected then the Boot Manager may end up on a different drive than the operating system.

That's my understanding and why, especially with SSD's, it's recommended that the only drive that's connected when installing the operating system is the boot drive.

I am using 2 windows os hard drives the main one is on 120gb SSD and 2nd hard drive used for gaming. Not really a problem... just not sure why i had this always showing on my ssd windows.

I deleted mine when I installed Windows and I'm having no problems.

I believe from research it contains space for the Win7 BitLocker stuff and is also used as a backup boot drive. I decided I didn't want this as I'm usually pretty good at recovering stuff when it goes wrong.

I think theres a guide on google to delete it during Win7 install - something like delete the main partition, and then expand the reserved one to be the main one?

Worth googling if you don't want it like I did.

Why are you honestly worried about a poxy little 100mb partition that the OS created, obviously for a reason, anyway?

I get what he's saying, it's like the whole thing about hiding empty drives, People like their system to look a certain way e.g. I prefer to only have 8 icons on my desktop as I think if I had more it would look too cluttered

I wouldn't bother touching it lol, it's 100mb, besides you wouldn't want to **** your system up by messing around with it, I'd leave it alone if I was you.
