2.1 or 5.1, although i think it'll mostly be used at 2.1

i was close to buying the Aego M but they have gone up in price

You can always shop around for second hands... I got my Aego M about 16months ago when the price was right - used it nearly everyday and it sounds awesome then, it sound awesome now.

Have a look around MM.

i've had altec lansing, sounded good except the bass goes straight to vibration, so my neighbours could hear my bass but i got none of it :(

annoying

are the Aego M's better than a 5.1 setup, i finding it really hard to choose between the Logitech Z-5400 and any other system.

what would be better, and are their any reasons for it?

Music, the Argo M wins for the price/system use.
If you want to watch surround sound movies, gaming e.t.c. a 5.1 setup is the best.

Both statement above are my personal opinion and they both need dedicated sound card to shine, otherwise, just save your buck and go with a simple 2.0 setup.

are these the ones?

I just got myself a Cyrus One amplifier and a set of nice speakers, can remember the brand, but the sound is brilliant.

Logitech z4 £50 as I dont think the aego is £50 better having heard them both.
And anyone that recommends pc speakers for music has very strange ears in my view.
Better off getting budget pc speakers and buy some decent headphones for music.
You can get £1000+ sound through £60 headphones.

well the aego m isnt really considered PC speakers, they are just a 2.1 system, usually for ipod or any general source.

i'll be using them for ipod, movies and xbox 360 so i dont want a specific pc speaker set and i cant really do 5.1

Sonic Impact T-Amp and the rest of the cash on some decent bookshelf speakers?

Otherwise, Aego M's are good.

Not as good as a T-Amp and KEF Coda's though, IMO...

Theres just no midrange on pc speakers i do find that fact annoying why cant someone release decent speakers and not just all bass and high end treble.
