What is GT5's competition on the 360?

I finished forza 2 and have gt prologue and imo prologue is far superior in every aspect, considering gtpro is only a demo in many ways the game will be something else.

now it is a demo when the reviews aren't too flattering?

I thought the reviews were quite positive, metacritic shows 80/100 average which is nothing to be sniffed at. God knows the majority of PS3 exclusives so far have struggled to get that high (oh please MGS4, break the 95% barrier i beg of you)

But you're right, it isn't a demo and shouldn't be treated as such, but it is unfinished (free updates involving damage and an improved online system have my hopes high), that isn't an excuse in any shape or form, just something that will keep me from selling my copy in the future.

only thing Forza2 was better at was the custom paint jobs, got to give credit for that, makes up for a lot of the shortfalls with the game itself.

The things i would say are better are

Custom paint jobs
Customized parts
Online integration
Photo mode
Physics
Damage
Engine noises
Track detail
A.I
Being able to have an actual race (not some stupid challenges)
Not having to grind money to enter the next race

Thats all i can think of right now.

:p,

Custom paint jobs - forza wins like i said
Customized parts - not required to complete the game
Online integration - yep both have them
Photo mode - yes gt5 has this also
Physics - debatable on what you prefer
Damage - comming to GT5
Engine noises - yes both have them
Track detail - abit sparse like GT5 P
A.I - debatable
Being able to have an actual race (not some stupid challenges) - thats just in demo i'm sure......then there is arcade mode
Not having to grind money to enter the next race - always been in GT games.

Customized parts - not required to complete the game -neither are most features
Online integration - yep both have them - Where can i check my times and Photos for GT5p?
Photo mode - yes gt5 has this also -GT5p doesn't
Physics - debatable on what you prefer - A sim, like it's advertised as.
Damage - comming to GT5 - GT5p doesn't
Engine noises - yes both have them -
Track detail - abit sparse like GT5 P - They are anything but sparse, have you even played FM2?
A.I - debatable

Not having to grind money to enter the next race - always been in GT games.- and what's that got to do with FM2?

We are talking about GT5p, and i'm surprised you havn't been flamed for calling it a demo, because when it first came out you would have been lynched for doing so by some guys on here.

A very bad response by you there. Please try harder.

Here is a cool new GRID video thats recently been put up on the net.

http://www.vimeo.com/1061033

Press reviews have also all been around the 9/10 mark :)

Even for an arcade racer, his driving skills absolutely blows. Especially on the first race. Sure he may... have been using it to show viewers what crash damage is like... but to do so many crashes on 3 races... I don't think that was intentional. Yes a derby, those things are crash nightmares, but I've seen better drivers than that. :) He's still hitting walls even with no cars near him!

He has to ram into other cars to get passed... The Viper is almost wrecked at Donington Park.

Shall I start eh? :D

Look at GRiD, final game, 43 cars... no clue how many car variations, but I'll bet it's nowhere near GT5:P or any other. I can't find any info on that. 16 tracks with multiple variations. £39.99, I'll bet Codemasters charge for DLC. Heck, didn't they once charge for cheat codes? That's more money you'll have to fork out and it wont even come close to the amount of content in GT5.

Now GT5:P, 71 cars.. 552 car colour variations for all 71 cars. 6 tracks with again some variations, and supposedly another track coming with an update, and car damage coming out with an update. £17.98, thats not even final.

Heck thats cheaper than a newly released top title PC game like Crysis for example. Usually anything from £23 to £27.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, a demo is a demonstration. Not adding to what's already there and keep adding. It's a sampler. Take it or leave it.

The last time I checked, the only demo of Gran Turismo 5 for the Playstation 3 was GT:HD Concept v1.2. 16 cars, 1 track with 1 variation. Nothing added to it, no updates for it. Free for the public to try. Once again, take it or leave it.

How can GT5:P possibly be a demo. It has to be a test bed beta type game. It's like what was it? rFactor a work in progress? Even though you bought it they were still adding to...

Nobody keeps updating demos and adding to them. Do they? I don't recall any... and usually demo's are worse than the final game, so buggy and all that. Even so buggy that it would even crash as you attempt to launch it. EA, NFS Carbon for example on the PC...

Forza 2 really comes alive in online play. Once you've played it online, it pretty much ruins SP. It did for me anyway.

lol, don't care what others think, i own it i played it, i think its a paid for demo, a paid for demo to test the waters so to speak. Yes they add things to it and support it, they want public feedback. Forza2 cannot be compared against a non final product

pressure sensitive buttons just **** me off tbh, especially for games where you have to hold them a lot. Means you have to place maximum pressure constantly.
Depends which game, Richard Burns Rally for PS2 was terrible at it, you had to push hard to get full throttle, but GT only required ~70% pressure for full throttle

A few of the friends I know and I tried Forza and PGR and basicall didn't really like it that much. I personally don't play many racing games, the ones ones I really did enjoy were Sega Rally on the Saturn, GT series an Wipeout :p

Forza 2 at the moment is easily better then GT5P, despite GT5P having the visual lead by some margin..

Like many have said, customisation of paint jobs, extensive upgrade plan, more indepth tuning, extensive damage system, clearly more accurate physics engine (whether you like this or not), larger range of cars, Auctions, online etc,

The full GT5 is set to redress some of the issues, but at the moment, a lot of 'features' are eluded as 'coming sometime' but information is sketchy at best, the Damage model is apart from 'model deformation'...

However, GT5 is always going to be the prettiest of the two, and the on the fly (but limited) tuning is a good feature in GT5P

Saying all that, they are both aimed more at the simulation end of things, and quite frankly for most people that just gets boring relatively quickly....

And of course by the time the full GT5 is released, I guess we'll be looking forward to FM3, although I wouldn't expect the graphics to rival GT5, the actual gameplay element I think will be a step ahead..

Yep. Kinda annoying, yet awesome at the same time :D

Had a few awesome races last night, and looking forward to getting home from work for a few more!
