What is it with knobs up town?

One thing I bet the OP has and that is a big gob...
That's where it usually goes down hill.

I'm 5'11 and built like a rake, never punched a single person in my life.
If you can't manage to keep your gob shut when someone starts giving you the lairy eyes and stuff then you deserve what you get.
All IMO of course.
Every confrontation I've had I've walked away from peacefully (sometimes ran away as fast as I could but hey. :D)

Thats just ridiculous, your wife was assaulted by some tard and the police aint involved? I know 'keyboard warrior' is thrown about here a lot but if someone did that to my wife i'd plough my way through the morons and make sure some legs were lost, i'd be beyond mad

In 1995 I was visiting Paris with 5 of my mates. It was a busy Saturday night and we sat down in a cafe to have some grub before goin clubbing. We were sitting on the pavement around a small table along with other customers.

What happened next caught me completely by surprise. This asswipe comes up to our table, unzips...and proceeds to pee on us and our table. Still peeing he goes to another table and then kicks it over lookin for a fight.

This goes on for about 5 minutes and then outta nowhere comes the paddy wagon. 4 Gendarmes jump out all dressed in deep blue and wearin military-style boots. All of them pull out their nightsticks and proceed to beat the living s__t out of that guy till hes a crumpled heap on the sidewalk. They then manhandle him into the back of the van, ask if we are all ok and if any of us want to press charges and then off they went.

I looked at my mates and they looked back at me and I knew we were all thinking the same thing "If we had this sort of thing in the UK a lot of problems would be solved"

There is no fear of police in our country. No sense of a deterrent force. And on top of that they are pretty powerless anyways.

Now Im not saying France is some kinda paradise but from what I saw their police dont seem to be burdened by the threat of lawsuits and polictical correctness that ours are.

I doubt we will ever see that kind of thing here (they have "human rights" remember) and in the meantime the baddies have a free run of everything it seems.

Wow, i wish i could have seen that :D, i doubt the same thing still happens over there. A lot will have changed in 12 years, correct me if im wrong though

nah, the french police can still get away with murder pretty much.

on a side note did anyone else just have a great xmas eve? i got my boogie on with some pretty ladies managed to pick up a phone number and didn't wake up too hungover this morning so result!

condolences on your evening though of course :/

In my job, I used to cover pretty much the whole of the Midlands before our team expanded and our call areas were redesigned and I ended up covering Worcestershire, Gloucestershire.

I have to say though, out of all the towns I visited - Walsall, Dudley, Wolverhampton, most of Staffordshire were the most run down places I visited. The area number which now covers this area is always vacant, people come and after two weeks they leave. No offence to anyone who lives in these areas, just something I noticed after visiting a lot of towns.

Surely they can't get away with head butting a woman though and actually knocking her unconscious to the degree that she needed medical attention?

Do you actually get done by the law more for headbutting a woman compared to a man? Or is just just because people think woman are all weaker?

I've always been brought up to know that hitting a woman is never right and I hope any bloke that does so, let alone nuts a woman into unconsciousness gets a spot of bother.

That is a terrible experience that you had. I hope your wife is allright :(

Law enforcement in this country is becoming a joke with the bad guys pretty much getting away with anything.

Do not ever go back to that place Ace Modder, it is shameful that the worms who did this to you are not jailed for 10 years in solitary confinement with 1 meal a week

lol.. fair play

but the english police are like that (maybe not as violent) but they punch people and kick them when theres no cameras about and stuff

You got into a fight for kicking a bottle under a table? Please tell me your joking? That can't be the sole reason the bouncer pulled your mate away...

You would be surprised...

I was drinking in a pub in Walsall a while back (the Wharf). I was sat down just chatting to one of my mates when a small bouncer came over and told us we had 10 minutes to drink up before kicking out time. I said thank you for letting us know, he replied back no problem and off he went to the next table. Next thing I know one of the other bouncers (huge guy with scars all over him) picks me up and drags me out of the pub.

Apparently I told the smaller bouncer to go **** himself and I gave him the finger. At the time I was a bit drunk but I am never nasty\violent, I can remember exactly what I said to the guy and the mate I was with confirmed my story.

I have had various other incidents with people wanting to start fights (packed bars and knocking into people/them knocking into you). Everyone just seems to go out to start trouble and it really spoils the night. Luckily I can normally talk my way out of it or if that fails I just buy them a drink :p (never been involved in a fight, I just know that if I keep on going out into Walsall that will change).

From my experiences/from what people have told me I agree that Walsall is not a nice place to go out. I wish I had stayed in Oxford :(. I hardly go out to Walsall anymore due to the trouble I have seen/experienced.

Get to some Self Defence/Kyokushin karate classes... and start doing some training. Try not to get wasted when you go out aswell - you will want to be a bit alert incase something like that happens again. Don't let them beat you. But act only in self defence!

Agreed, the police should be "feared" and not just thought of as a joke, I think having the police as a visible deterrent is really important and helps to stop things like this hapenning, and people who get on the wrong side of the police should expect some kind of retribution,

However I also think it's important that if the police were able to use these kinds of tactics here that they themselves were policed and monitored, so as not to abuse such power as it would be ripe for abuse by officers,

They would also have to be certain beyond doubt that the person they caught was in fact guilty,

this is where been matey with bouncers helps

ive never had any trouble really , infact im out a hell of a lot and get in all sorts of messy states but the only times ive ever been hit where once in london during an argument with cockney ****** who had the cheek to repeatedly insult me by calling me a geordie and once by some lass who my lass bumped into (she nearly floored me to be fair )

i find fights can always be talked out of or ran away from :D

I think sometimes the issues people have with being thrown out by bouncers arise because they don't realise how they're behaving. If a bouncer approaches you because you do something like pick a girl up and put her on a table to dance (oops) and either from your overly enthusiastic apologies, vacant, glazed stare, or swaying, can tell that you're drunk, he'll still chuck you out. If you can turn to him and just apologise convincingly, s'long as you're not in Walsal, you might get off.

A huge man grabbed me in this place, but I just apologised for the table antics and carried on. It wasn't like it was a soft place either, for some apparant infraction of the rules, a guy was thrown down the stairs in the centre of this photo later in the evening.

I know its not right but its slightly annoying this, because a lot of woman know this, some of them use it to there advantage, they act big and hard like they are untouchable because they know if they get hit by a lad the lad is gonna get battered by any group of guys in the area looking for a fight.

I mean if a woman hit you first, is it still not right to hit them? Thats what confused me.

i don't bother going out any more tbh, much cheaper and safer to have, say a poker night at home, no extortionate prices for clubs, no taxis home to pay for and a good laugh at the pokert able and then no 'short sharp needles' to deal with, win all round :)

Well for all of those people, who don;'t beleive that this was an unprovoked attack, well your opinions are not worth anything too me.

And fort he people who think that the bouncer would not have pulled my mate out for doing just what he did. I'm glad other people who had had experience around Walsall have vouched for me.

And for the person who said the "OP is gobby" - well thats clearly not the case. I cannot fight, I'm not the strongest person in the world, I try to aviod conflict as I tend to lose.

The episode on Saturday has put me off going to Walsall for a very long time, if not for good. NYE I have decided to go to my local pub with my family, should be less drama.

So you’re not reporting it to the police? What if this happened to someone else?

It might not get anything done for you, but if enough complaints are received something will get done about it.
