Does yours have a resonator too? If so i dare you to take it off, then with your chavvy exhaust and no resonator you can start woo'ing the 14yo girls!

Mine used to sit after the air filter, I replaced the rubber tubing that it branches off with one I had laying about from a mk2 Mondeo (which doesn't have a resonator) and it does roar quite nicely at W.O.T, similar in effect to a K&N panel filter but louder.

Combined with the tappets on my near 300k mile engine, the Mondeo now sounds like a proper tractor but for some immature reason I like it
