What is the greatest one-man goals reel vid?

We need some interviews with the top managers at the time and someone really needs to ask. Y U NO SIGN LE TISSIER?!

All those keepers know when to stay DOWN.

a lot of them tried to sign him but he wasn't for leaving allthough he was once on his way to spurs until his wife said no (apparently).

Saints legend and even when he was (very) fat and past it was always the most talented player on the pitch. For me easily the best English player I've seen in terms of talent and probably up there with the best of all time how he never went to a major championships just as a penalty taker I'll never know!

Le God will be forever remembered by saints fans!

I got really worried with the thread title that it would be about someone else.

No worries, as soon as I saw who started the thread I knew who it would be. :)

For the sake of having a bit of competition here's one of Zizou, there may be better videos out there of him but it's not bad, 2:08ish is wonderful although more for the build-up than the finish and about 2:30 is that volley. Although I'm surprised neither of his penalties in the World Cup 2006 made it.

Probably my favourite player of all time and yet I think Le Tissier has to win for sheer variety of goals and the almost contemptous ease with which he scored combined with the nonchalence of "well, the ball was there, it was obvious what to do". One of the most naturally gifted players I think there ever has been, I say naturally gifted as you never really got the impression he bothered with practicing all that much...

Somebody else, you'd do well to watch stanley victor collymores goals from the 94/5 season through his liverpool days.

Not a romario or a bergkamp in pure world class, but a watch in power forwarding non the less. Himself, Sir les, Wrighty, Andy Cole... all just too good in the 90's.

Nothing we have today matches the goal banging class those guys had week in and out.

God what a waste of tallent, a truly two footed player with power pace and a great eye for goal just a shame he was sutch a total idiot. How England could do with a forward of his quality at the minute!

Only a 2 minute video but Luc Nilis was a great player for Anderlecht and PSV, Aston Villa signed him in 2000 and the goal around 1:20 against Chelsea was the only one I believe he scored for us and it was a beaut. His Villa career sadly only lasted 2 games because of a horrific career ending leg break, but he was magnificent in his prime.

I used to love watching Ronaldo. Best player i've ever watched...

The wage disparity wasn't anywhere near as bad as it is now. I doubt it would have been as easy to tempt someone away. 99% of people would have still moved though, he's just a special case.

Interestingly MLT has gone on record as stating he wasn't the highest paid player at Southampton either. I suppose if you have no intention of leaving there isn't such a need to offer silly money to keep hold of you.

I was convinced he'd end up at Blackburn in the mid-90s with his old teammates Shearer and Flowers, but it never happened. Rumour has it if he'd gone anywhere it would have been to Spurs or Chelsea.

As for managers I was watching CL highlights show on Sky a few years back and Souness was on the panel, they were discussing Totti (one club legend) and the conversation turned to MLT, he said in terms of raw ability he was the most talented player he'd ever worked with, and this is from a guy who worked with the likes of Dalglish, Shearer etc.

I suppose it does just show the complete lack of ego he had, and is kind of part of what made him so likable. No real desire to be the absolute best in his field (which of course, can be said to have been his flaw in many ways), just a bloke with a great talent happy to get paid to play the game he loves.

Sometimes I forget just how good Ronaldo was at first. That video doesn't even do him justice. His first few seasons when he was scoring practically a goal a game, he was just out of this world phenomenal. He had everything Messi has now, plus the physical presence to push past people too.
