What is the longest you have gone through a video game (PC / Console) without knowing a basic abilit

DOTA 2 - 2 Hours or so, nobody really helps and the game then didn't come with any hints ,tips or help on a very advanced game which got on my nerves. gave up and haven't gone back, shame as i heard its a great game.

I've played dota2 for 6 months and just learned I can shift-click items to buy onto the hotbar. Pretty handy :p

I was quite slow at WoW back in beta.

Firstly, I did the human quests upto and including Goldshire, then when they ran out I didn't move on, I stayed in the mines just south of the area killing Kobolds. Then they stopped giving XP, but I didn't have a clue what to do about it.

When ai eventually got to the end of Elwynn at level 12, I wanted to go to Ironforge. So I plotted a route through Redridge, Burning Steppes, Searing Gorge, etc. - I must have died a good 30-40 times trying to get there, ended up Googling and discovering the Deeprun Tram. :D

Didn't know how to spot players in BF3 till a month before BF4 was released.

You and everyone else in the game it seems.

I don't use focus, FADC or (rarely) throws in SFIV, but that's intentional.

Still duff up most other players ;)

My vote goes to the women who wrote into games master questioning what to do in sonic, as every time she ran into the various animals they killed her. She didn't realise you first had to kill the animal like robots to release the actual animals. Virtually the only thing I remember about the show...

Playing through Secret of Monkey Island not knowing there was a save function and having to redo all the stuff I did previously after switching Amiga off after a few days.

When I was a WoW baby I got to about level 12-15 before I realised Auto attack was....Auto Attack.

I was spamming the Auto Attack action bar slot thinking it was a 1 hit 1 attack deal :D

Six years of world of warcraft including high end raiding. Didn't know I could press B to open my bags :o

B is battle rez for me!

Keeping to the Warcraft theme. I had finished WarcraftIII campaign with the humans and 1 other race before I re-remember that the Hero classes had talent. I upgraded Arthas a couple of times but then left the game for a few weeks and came back and had totally forgot about them.

Playing Bioshock: DLC Clash in the Clouds now and see that you can aim down sights (ADS) with normal weapons. I was using the vigors so much that I finished the whole Bioshock Infinite game without realising you could ADS with guns  Just used to ADS being right-click.

League of Legends....

Took me weeks to figure out you could launch Jana's 'q' again early by pressing 'q' a second time without waiting for it to charge up...
