What is the loudest part of your set-up?

Case fans, definatly. I've got a fan controller, just cba to pull everything out and refit it all

PSU, until the CPU gets up to load, then the CPU FAN is stupidly loud

The scroll wheel on my G7!

The only issue with a silent pc is how loud the keyboard and mouse are with no ambient noise

HDD's for sure, unless i'm gaming then it's my 6950 but thats to be expected i guess

the stock fan on my titan fenrir is like a windtunnel and my reference 5850 sounds like it wants to take off under heavy load lol

My two Antec Tri-Cool case fans on low RPM settings.

Just bought two Sharkoons Silent Eagles to replace them though

dominator ram fan and case fans on my antec df-85 by far! although its not actually that loud under the desk.

cosair h50 and the vf-3000f on my gtx 470 makes virtually no sound

Case fans! The HAF X is not too noisy and it's more a wooshing air sound than an annoying noise but I would like it a bit quieter. Fan controller might be on order soon!

GPU's are only really noisy when going full tilt benchmarkina or something like that.

I'd say the loudest part of my setup is the girlfriend continously moaning about 'when are you going to move that electrical gizmo bobins bits off the damn dining room table'

other than that the hardware itself is stealthily quiet

When the pc is idle it's really quiet. I've got a ton of 120mm/140mm fans in there, all slowed right down with fan controllers.

The gpu's and the DVD drive are really noisy when they're in use..... but I don't tend to use the DVD a whole lot, and I play my games loud enough to drown out the sound of the GPU fans when they're on load.

id say the loudest part of my system is my 2 470,s i was playing crysis for a couple of hours and the fan kicked in it was a mad sound but quickly exited the game to see that the card was a 100 degress hince the fan going nuts to cool it down ..... NEVER HEARD ANYTHING LIKE THAT BEFORE LOL....

Two Palit GTX 460's in mine. Sounds like the Red Arrows are practicing for their next display

That and the four case fans at full blast keeping them cool.

On idle its my Apaches on my Megahalems, I just stopped them both and it went much quieter. In games its my GTX470. I usually have headphones on though so dont hear it. Also I have been running without a sidepanel for a few months. I will get it back soon (as its at my house rather then uni) and I bet it will all go quiet.

Hard drives

PSU is nigh-on silent, as is CPU cooler and case fans. Gfx is passively cooled.

Anything over 50% fan speed on my 5850 or DVD drive when in use.

Used to have a MSI motherboard with a little fan that used to bug the hell out of me.
