What is the point?

The 260 is actually powerful enough so that two or three of those in SLI is probably the ultimate setup for people with big monitors wheras this 9600 is totally useless :p

9600GSOs are good at folding....not knowing anything about folding, does the extra memory make any difference for that?
 
GSO is worse then a GT? Some games could use 1gb, old ones even meaning the 9600 might still be of use but then having the memory as cheap ddr2, Im not sure there is much advantage over just using main memory to store textures especially if you had fast ddr2 or ddr3 even
 
Assuming the software and drivers will be programmed and optimised well for this and if it even makes a difference, then perhaps this card could be a cheap option for people who do CAD/3D graphics modelling or something? Otherwise it really is pointless.
 
Can I move my pagefile and temp internet folder to that ram ?:)

(now that would be a useful feature)

Indeed it will. Still dont think I've seen a more ridiculous card on the market ever.

Anyone else got any contenders?
 
If you need large screen but not a lot of performance then would be good.

Admittedly is wasted for people on these forums, but then the people on these forums make the minority of the computer using world.
