Someone at work found this in a set of desk draws and we are all stumped as to what it is...can the great and grand knowledge of GD help?

I'm pretty sure its not a Queen Wasp - but I could be wrong cause my Dad's retired :(

Do you work in the dullest office on earth?

'we found a small screw'

'quick, to the Internet!'

Meanwhile someone in the background swoons and faints due to the unexpected excitement.

Its a screw with an allen key hole in the end and I would assume that there is a thread inside which matches with a bolt somewhere. Flat pack chipboard desks and the like use that sort of thing.

It's Cthulhu clearly, buy some queen wasps and nuke it from orbit, then hug your father who knows where to get a mac10 <3 minutes with hovis for proof.

its a bolt thread fixing for wood.
that fixing would be inserted into a hole in a piece of would say a table top. Then the table leg would have a bolt fitted in the end which would screw into that fixing hence attaching the table leg to the table top.

alan key form is for screwing this fixing into the wood
