What is white privilege?

Im not sure I buy into white privilege either. I’m Chinese but was born in England, of course I’ve suffered from racism through my life but I can’t say I’ve ever felt disadvantaged in any way. Occasionally felt humiliated or hurt, generally not bothered but never disadvantaged

Then fair play to you, you're more resilient than should have to be. And I'm glad you've been lucky I life that you're able to say that.

Pehaps you could elucidate the point you are trying to make?

There are nearly three times as many whites living in poverty in the US than blacks according to the federal test.

None of the statements made by the coach /teacher? are down to race.

They are mostly are down to poor parenting and parental abandonment (normally by the father).

It might not be fair on a child that its mum is a drug addict and that its father pays no money towards its upkeep and has nothing to do with it. But this isnt 'racism'

Single parenthood rates (at birth in the numbers I cite) in the US used to be far closer between blacks and whites at a time when the country was notably more racist.

So saying racism is the cause for this would need a lot of explanation.

Do you have children? I find your use of 'it's" above quite disturbing to be honest.

Flip it on its head and multiply it by a lot, would you happily stroll around Afghanistan?

OK You know what, i think we completely agree, you are just defending something what i consider logically normal, "to death on the hill" as you have put it elsewhere.

I've been in plenty of situations where being "white" isn't the normal, working in the oil industry and even in Sweden where it was "spot the white man" at my language school.

I also am regularly " bullied" by the Muslim and African guys at work for being the Englishman. Its all very confusing race and nationality all mixed up like that eh?

Meh i guess. Privilege.

Those "race races" are cliche AF. The C4 one was even more cliched.

You could go to a UK council estate catchment school and ask the same questions and get a field full of spread out kids.

Grammatically yes, but 'their' would be more appropriate. 'It's' just reinforces the dismissive and superior tone of the poster.

I'm talking about a notional child....

You know they don't actually exist?

Its an example, a notional one.

If i was giving a real life example I would be more likely to use her, his or their.

That's simply not true.

I have argued that white privilege exists, you've doubted and questioned every assertion and example I've given from a very obviously doubting position.

Would any rational person conclude you agreed that white privilege exists? If you say 'no" then you're either lying or a bit lacking 'up there".
I'm still waiting for the quotes where, according to you, I downplay black people's experiences. Surely if you can find those then you'd have your answer? All I've seen so far is you trying to avoid giving the quotes to support your accusation of me. According to you I was consistent in it so one or two quotes should be easy to find. This isn't like finding sources on the internet. You're accusing me of saying things so you must have specific points in mind. So please quote them here and we can debate what was meant by them.
