What is your absolute favourite track of all time?

Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones.

If I was to name my top five, there would be changes based on the year and my mood. But that song has stayed number one since I first got in to the Stones. I love everything about it - the lyrics, the riff, the backing vocals, the way the song builds up. Absolutely my favourite song ever, and I doubt anything will ever oust it.

Not sure I could ever pick a fave. I'm not really into rock or metal but a song that brings back memories of a lost friend is Gun 'n' Roses sweet child of mine. Whenever I hear it, it take me right back to a different time of both good and bad memories, and I get lost in the memories for a while :).

Don't really have a fave, I like all sorts of music and cannot pick one best

Got to be 'Two Tribes' by Frankie Goes to Hollywood - one of only two songs ever that I absolutely loved the first time I heard them - and in this particular case, that love endures 32 years later.

This song will always remind me of a happier, simpler time in my life, before mortgages, credit cards and running a car - the only downside being that I was still at secondary school in 1984.

The family holiday that summer was in St Ives in Cornwall and it was one of the best holidays ever - the weather was hot, my Dad, brother and me spent most of the fortnight bellyboarding off Porthmeor beach and when we went down the town for an evening meal, this song was playing in every pub and bar.

Probably Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms, on a proper HiFi.

:o

Close seconds are 'One Day Like This' by Elbow and 'Leningrad' by Billy Joel.

Honourable mention for Matisyahu's King without a Crown.
