1995 E36 M3 Saloon purchased June 2022 for £10,900 with 115,000 miles

Now to see if it tumbles due to the current peaky market or hold or climbs. I would say I've spent around £1500ish on it so far, wheels, tyres, replacement bits etc but saved equal amount or close too in labour as so far been able to do all the jobs myself except for refurbing the wheels.

Can't quite remember exact monies without digging out the receipts so this will be +/- a few hundred but I have some old donkeys that need replacing

They all keep trucking along but with 100k on them now things have needed refreshed/replaced, have many new cars on order, just wish some one would ship me one, god damn it!!! :D

  • 2011 Abarth Punto Evo, new £15k, I did add esseesse kit in the first year for £2.7k, bought this when I god bored of dieselling and wanted something I could commute, play and compete with, as I was generally of the opinion that multiple cars were a waste of time and money, this fit the bill well.
  • 2012 Chevrolet Craptiva (its not actually been bad) got it 1 year old with Chevvy fire sale on leaving UK, a panic buy when we realized we were illegally towing with our old car, £14k.
  • 2005 Mazda MX-5 NC ropey edition, bought 2015 when I realized that replacement parts after incidents on the Punto were mental (this car cost less than replacement front brakes for example :o ) so needed a play car, £2k, spent ~15x that on it over the years racing it definitely a waste of money :D

Until yesterday, previous car was a 2005 Mini Cooper S R53, paid around £3300 for it about 6 years ago. Previous car to that was a 2002 VW Golf mark 4 16v. Paid £1250 for it which I had for about 2 years.

Small upgrade arrived yesterday.

2018 Audi RS4 Avant in Daytona Grey with Black pack. Price paid...enough!

2016 MK7 Golf GTI with 53k miles bought Approved Used from VW in 2018 for £17k

Have put ~15k miles on it and apparently it's worth similar money today

Constantly resisting the urge to buy a silly car whilst I can but put off by the inflated used prices and long delays for new cars
Well - resisted for a while but recently acquired a 70 plate Jaguar F-Type P450 AWD with 4.5k on the clock for ~£60k. Still got the Golf which is now at 73k miles

On the road....
2006 Volvo V70 D5, bought October last year, paid £1800 from a dealer, the same dealer has offered to buy it back for £2k despite me putting nearly 10k on it (now nearing 178k miles)

1500 miles in the past 5 weeks, other than occasionally telling me the DPF soot filter is full (nothing an “Italian tune up” hasn’t cured so far) it’s not missed a beat, gets consistent low 40’s to the gallon and goes well for an old barge and despite being a diesel sounds quite good with it being a 5 cylinder engine.

Only expenditure has been an oil service and changed the belts (auxiliary and cam) along with the water pump as a preventative measure.

Great for transporting my two German shepherds around, along with anything else you choose to cart to the tip etc, supremely comfortable.

Bought my first D5 V70 as a stop gap, liked it so much I bought this one mainly as it was in better overall condition and has the 6 speed gearbox and the 185 engine, I have no plans to change although suspect like many older cars, diesels especially, it’ll be killed off by ULEZ legislation long before it dies of its own accord.

70 plate M135i purchased new in Dec 2020 for a smidge over £34k with the dealers contribution, on 10.5k miles currently and not spent anything on it yet but rfl as it isn’t due it’s 1st service yet and despite liking a ‘lively’ drive around the Peak District once in a while it’s tyres are still fine (heard plenty of stories about bad uneven wear in the new M135i)

Got mine from Stuart Spencer Autos in Brum, he's one of the main importers of Alphards, nice to deal with, car was immaculate too. He's got a good stock to check out either way.

They're great value compared to VWs, and a nicer ride as they're a luxury mpv rather than a van.

Ours has a 48" day van conversion, so a big wide bed comfortable for two people (I'm 6'2" and got loads of room). No built in cooker or anything, but just have camping stove in a cupboard. Has a table you can setup, but both doors still open so it's really useful just as a van too.
I got one buddy pick it up on Monday/Tuesday!!!

Here it is!
