I was having a nap at work today and had a weird dream which triggered off some really old memories. The earliest one I can remember is from when I had just turned 2. My dad had been working in London and had fallen 60ft from scaffolding onto the street. He was very nearly killed. My mum and I flew over to London to see my dad just after it happened. I don't remember any of the commotion before it but my earliest memory was standing the the street just where it happened. I can see the streetsign in my head now, 'Filbeach Crescent' somewhere in London.
I can also remember a few weeks later when my dad got out of the hospital, they took me to Hamleys where they bought me a He-man sword. I killed a pigeon with it in Trafalgar Square.

My next memory after that was from about a year later. I find it strange that I can remember such things so vividly after all these years, especially from such a young age. It's quite fascinating.

What is your earliest memory?

My mate's birthday party when i was about 3, 15 years on and we're still mates :D
Altho i dont see her as much as i want to :(

Chasing my brother and his friend from the sandbox to the swingset and back again, when I lived in Ohio. They were teasing me :(

Mine is from when I was about 2 1/2. I was running in the house and ran from the kitchen into the living room. At some point I tripped and cracked my head on the side of the living room door. I don't remember it as being painful but I do remember feeling the blood gush down my face. Not nice.

The next thing I remember is being loaded into the back of an ambulance and then waking up in hospital the next day.

I was 2 and walking up the garden path with a large screwdriver with a big lump of putty stuck on the end. I remember it as if it was yesterday :)

Also, I found a small packet of screwdrivers by the garages behind my old house (I think I was about 3) and the handles were all different and very distinctive colours. To this day, whenever I see something that matches one of the colours I get a really strong feeling....for a split second I'm 3 again :)

Um, taking a dump... must only have been a couple of years old, as I was wearing a nappy. I can distinctly remember standing in the living room, both my parents sat on the sofa. I started straining, and my mum said something along the lines of "come on, you can do it!"

What a first memory to have :(

Hmm.. my ham sarnie looks like it won't be eaten..

I have 2, I don't know which was first:

1) Choking on the first brussels sprout I ever tried at lunchtime, it was so scary.

2) Standing in the playground wearing this white coat and being pushed and bullied because I had put up my hood because it was starting to rain and it was cold.

When i was about 2 or 3 and i used to sit underneath my grans glass coffee table and my mum always used to say "watch your head" and hold her hand above my head so i wouldn't bump it.

I can remember being in my cot and looking out through the bars and seeing our German Shepherd dog sitting in the corner of the room. The curtains were also closed and it was the middle of the day, must have been my afternoon nap or something. I also dropped my dummy and it landed underneath the cot. Not sure what age I was then.

At Nursery school telling my teacher who was sat on a bench in the playgrund that I was going to Nicky Robinson's new house that day.

*sigh* those were the days :p

My earliest and most vivid memory is from when I was about 5.

Our pet dog had gone into some bushes close to our house. He went there to die.

So I just climbed in there with him and I remember hugging him. Not sure if I stayed 'til he died or not. But I remember I went back home when he was asleep.

I can't remember if he died that night or not. Strange.

Phil.

Hmm, thats something that few people would survive, he was very lucky in the least. It sounds like you're remembering it because its a flashbulb memory, as you remember it because of the major drama from your father having the fall.

I can't remember much, I'll remember the odd thing or two now and again, or even a taste or smell that I haven't experience for a long while. I can't remember any whole memories until about from when I was six, the rest are mainly fragments. One of the things I remember best is when my mum fell down part of the stairs in our house and smashed up her back :(.

That is quality. "By the power of Greyskull, 'ave it pigeon"

I'm pretty sure that mine is being in my birthday suit in the paddling pool on a nice day at Nursery.

It seems and odd thing to stick in the mind, it wasn't a momentous occasion by any stretch, though was probably the first time I'd seen a naked girl - maybe thats it!

when i was two, mum had a go at me on christmas eve and plonked me on the sofa, unknown to her was a wooden cube from a puzzle thing that hit the back of my leg and broke my leg :(
