What is your highest credit card limit?

I've had a fair amount of CC's over the years, I used to open them to take advantage of their opening offers (0% on purchases for x amount of months etc) when they finish, I keep them for a year or so on zero balance before closing the account (I'm aware that tactic is not good for my credit score) average limit on them is about £3k, execpt MBNA for some strange reason they gave me a five figure limit on the card, even though the maximum balance on the card was never more than £2k (big dental bill) last one I opened was the post office for use abroad, after checking martin lewis's site for the best card for use abroad (I couldn't get a clarity card as I was refused, probably down to my credit score)

Less then one of use earns in a year.

We earn well, but we don't really spend beyond our needs. Our fuel bill for the winter will cost on average 3k to 3.5k (oil filled rads with oil at 10euro a liter) electric for the year was 4k (10 bed/8 bath house). We will spread this over a CC, and have it paid off before next winter arrives,

We could pay it off as lump sum, but we figure a litle credi dosn't hiut.

£3,000. I only have one card, and only use for buying from less trusted online stores.

£200. Proper annoying - always running out of credit and having to top it up mid-month if I buy anything vaguely pricey, but then but it still comes in handy. As it's my first credit card and I am a student can't complain too much I guess.

That's crazy! My total credit limit as a student over 3 cards was over 5k at one point... ask them to increase it, they more than likely will.

I had one when i was 18 for 5k, within 2 months i had maxed it out and took 2 years paying it back :p May get one again in the future though!

The wife has just gone out because she thinks our card has no limit.!!

We use Tesco card for everything and soon as we get home I go online and pay each bill off - Get loads of Tesco vouchers over the year - it pays for all Xmas booze and food.

£4000 I think on my Tesco one.

In all honesty I don't really know, nor do I know the interest rate, as I always pay them off right away so makes no difference :).

It is scary though that with various cards I could spank £10,000 in one hour on TVs etc.

Don't have one at the moment, should probably get a Santander 123 as a backup for my AmEx, especially since I have a Santander current account now *shudders*

I have 2 cards

One has a £500 limit and the other has something ridiculous like £12500

I buy everything on my card when I can and pay it off right away, that way I get a bit of extra protection on purchases

I should really change and get a card with some decent bonuses on too

personal amex is high enough (5 figures) and corp amex is unlimited. Think most I ever put on a corp amex in 1 month was >£20k at previous job as a consultant

A stupidly big "Available Balance" just means it gets filled... Did that twice when I was younger, never again.

Combined mine are now about £6.5k, which is more than enough thank you.

A "stupidly big available balance" doesn't mean it has to be spent at all. I currently have access to about 65k across multiple cards (not including my partners' which would push it even higher, or my Amex charge card). Doesn't mean it needs spending!

£4,500 on my Halifax Clarity. Pretty much the only one I need that high a limit on because it means I can be abroad for pretty much up to a month without having to pay it off or hitting the ceiling.

In total I've got about £20k plus charge cards.
