What is your minimum FPS acceptence level?

Depends on the game. Roughly speaking around 30 or more is desirable for me. Sometimes a game can run at low fps and feel very smooth. Just got hold of Crysis Warhead today and running all bar one setting at 'enthusiast' dx9.c, max res 1680x1050, 8xAA and the fps was from as low as around 10 - 40+. However, if felt and seemed like it never really dropped below 20 - 25. Nevertheless I found that turning off AA completely made little if any negative impact to the visuals and the fps shot up, which wasn't surprising.

on counterstrike-source, type in "fps_max 60", then it will be smoothe, then type in "fps_max 55" and if your really fast with your mouse youll notice a difference, where as on games like crysis anything under 30, you get a slow feeling kinda, but yet again, fps is always over that on crysis, and fps on counter-strike source is in the 100s, if not close to 900 in some places lol. so it doesnt really matter, i dont check no more i just play

Some games feel terrible at 30fps, most are fine.

Unreal Tournament III feels terrible below 60.

In general I want 60FPS, Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead feel crap below this.

Depends entirely on the game - in RPG's and RTS's so long as it's consistently above 20FPS I'm fine, if it's a moderately paced game (crysis), a minimum of 30FPS is what I prefer, if it's a more twitchy game like Unreal Tournament or Left 4 Dead or something then 60 is what I want for my minimum FPS value. Though those are just estimates really, I don't tend to monitor my FPS in every game unless A: I've just bought a new card and would like to compare it to my old one, or B: the game in question feels jerky so I'm testing it.

If i had the desk space i would have a lovely 120hz flat screen CRT, absolute best for gaming!

No input lag, no screen lag!
Just pure high refresh rates :D

RTS games about 25.
3rd person games 30-40+
Slow first person games: 30+
Fast first person shooters or quick (3rd person) racing games: 45+ at all times.

Turn off shadows and/or ssao first, quickly followed by effects like DoF, Heat haze, etc...

Last thing I give up on is AA, Draw distance or resolution. Closely followed by lightning (bloom/hdr) and reflections.

60.

In before the "you can't see more than 25FPS" ********.

Don't settle for anything less. The jumps, jerks, stutter, etc. take you out of the experience. And once you have experienced framedlocked 60 fps with no variations, you will not want to go back. It's all about the silky smoothness.

about 20 for me, although it does differ depending on the game. I played oblivion back in the day at about 15fps just because it was such a great looking game i did not want to turn the graphics down

bet you could notice the difference on crt monitors between 60hz and 85hz , 120hz though ;)

Wouldn't surprise me, for example I found 125fps/125hz considerably smoother than 77fps/77hz when playing a game I was fully in tune with.

Obviously it won't be the same for everyone though.

About 20-25 fps to be honest, got used to playing with those frames due to a year with a rubbish GPU.

Now though when a game drops to this level it's dead noticeable.
