What is your scariest/jumpiest game of all time

we fear freakyist bit is where your in elivator and it goes dark then light comes back on and the girl is stood next to you

the jumpiest part in it for me was when you was going through offices and the girl runs from behind a desk into you........

but like what been said the game was pretty predictable.......

silent hill just **** me up from beginning to end

Did you have 5seconds to type that reply or you were going to be killed or something? That's bloody appauling, what the hell are you on about? Take more time for crying out loud. :o

Doom 3 was pretty atmospheric, didn't like it too much :p

in fact yes i was nackered and forgot i wasnt on msn :D, ive updated it just for you because your so special

Call of Cthulhu, Doom 3 & Condemned 1 top 3 scariest for me of all time. FEAR was rubbish........ Resi Evil 1 was very scary when i was a kid but the rest are just v.good and fictional.

FEAR made me pretty uneasy..(i hate paranormal stuff) because our old house was actually haunted, not to the extent of having spooks crawl up my bed, though. (as an example :p )

another one was resident evil, when i was about 10/11. damn it used to frighten me. i hated the music in the guards quarters, there was one specific room (i think a zombie might jump out the cupboard? or out of the bath?) that music gave me the chills...i can still remember it now lol.

doom3 didnt scare me, it just made me jump, too much so i stopped playing in fear of a heart attack or something. same with condemned.

i never really got into silent hill after playing resident evil, everything felt a little...unreal. whereas a zombie outbreak has always seemed enitrely possible (in my mind anyway! :p )

edit: ARGH... :( i just remembered, the shriek the hunters made on resi 1, damn...they were nasty things!!

thief 1 - the haunted cathedral levels and also the The Mine. The Mine level probably scared me a bit more because of the giant spider that is at the bottom of one of the lifts. I hate spiders :(

Resi 2 scared me right off my chair :D Playing at 3am in a deserted house with all the lights on, and the birds got me. How nobody phoned the police I don't know, I screamed like a girl  But then, I was but a child.

The only game that's had me freaked lately is Stalker... The section where you have to fight the zombie stalkers and shut down the first brain burner, especially if you're on the timer, had my little heart going. That, and the Controllers (the guys with the psychic attacks). Just freaked myself out again in the red forest tonight, no joke, ended up running in circles, totally lost, like in blair witch :D

Doom 3, turned one way to make sure no zombies where anywhere, checked the other way, a big bulky zombie gave me a right slapped me around the face, and as well this was while i was on webcam to some other people, ermmmm interesting night that was.

clive barkers undying was creepy as hell and still worth a shot although graphics whores might not like it as it is on a modified ut1 engine.

my second choice has to be fear that game was almost as atmospheric but a bit predictable.

they are both sweet though in the dark with ear phones up loud :)

For shocks then Condemned (bought for the PC for £6 recently s/h - bargain) - there are parts that will make anyone jump but its a superficial kinda scary with very little depth.

for sheer tense atmosphere then SS2 takes it (im fairly sure they copied the music from SS2 in Condemned) but you couldn't really say it was "Scary" in my opinion - it wasnt really supposed to be terrifying but instead tense and compelling.

SH3 takes it for sheer messed up visuals - 6ft bunnies covered in blood? wtf.

Alone in the Dark was the first game that really made me jump. Still a classic; oft-copied, but rarely equalled.

:)

ok scariest?

i suppose it would have to be Aliens vs Predator 2

i hear there is a new aliens v predator game in the work: looking forward to that :D

AVP1 (AVP2, despite what anyone says, was terrible and was about as scary as Lemmings), Silent Hill 2 and Condemned...

Silent Hill 2- when the head fell off the mannequin in the dark..... scared the bejeesus outta me

I'm going with Clive Barkers Undying too, very underrated game, very spooky. Such a shame that they canned it due to poor sales, as it was supposed to be the first in a trilogy, so will never know how the story was supposed to go now :(
