Recently bought the Limited Edition Ducky Shine 3 mech board in white (with black keys) on Cherry MX Blue switches, best board I've ever used by faaaaaar

(I'll try and get pics up later)

Space Monkey, have you been able to test out other switches? Any reason you liked the blue switches more?

The Ducky Shine 3 seems quite the mechanical keyboard of choice (plus that G602 sounds spot on for me). I've always wanted to venture into mechanical but I have no ability to test different switches which scares me for such a high price point. Reviews seem to differ on switches based on personal preference alone.

Steelseries ikari laser which I've had for the last 5 years or so, and a noppoo choc mini with cherry brown switches which I've been using since a few years.

I like small keyboards - I don't think I could ever use a full size keyboard ever again, or even one with arrow keys in their separate block. Small keyboards allow your hands to naturally rest square with each other, rather than reaching wide either side.

As for the ikari - most comfortable mouse I've ever used, coming from many razers, logitechs and other mice... I will happily cope with the **** scroll wheel on the ikari (it's not good), because it fits like a glove.

Thanks for the responses lads.

It's slightly larger and does feel a bit bigger in the hand. It did take me a while to get used to, I used have a claw like grip with the G500 now I stretch my hand out to use all the buttons easily. Don't use the DPI shift, need those extra buttons! Was tempted by the ROCCAT TYON www.roccat.org/products/ too but it's not out yet.

Thanks Benny. I read that the G502 has a lower profile, is only as wide as the G9x and causes cramping for palm grip gamers with larger hands so that's out for me I think.

The G602 sounds perfect though, it's taller for better arch support and larger for palm grip plus the buttons appear to have a DPI shift option and I'd need wireless for my setup! I might pick one. Glad you mentioned it monkey.

Mouse - Razer Deathadder (the first release and still going strong!)
Keyboard - Saitek Eclipse III

I'm looking at making the jump to a mechanical KB some time soon

With all this talk about fancy peipherals, I pulled out the old G9x and had a blast on BF3.

I'm seriously stunned how much difference a quality mouse can make, shame it's so uncomfortable.

^ I like your orb :D

I don't think I can use a mouse any more: about 10 years ago I started getting twinges in my fingers that wouldn't go away. I switched to a trackball and have been fine ever since. A few minutes of mouse use is fine, but I won't risk more.

Two setups ATM, one at my desk with a G15 v1 (the backlighting is pretty faded now but otherwise it's fine) and an original deathadder. I've also got a setup for playing from bed (got a 42" tv at the end) with an apple USB slim aluminium keyboard and a wireless sidewinder x8 (got it cheap a couple of years ago and it looked good but I still prefer the feel of the deathadder)

I'm seriously looking at getting a Mech keyboard but overwhelmed by choice. I'd want a full size board, primarily for FPS, but suitable for coding and general typing too. What does the community recommend?

Don't buy into all this overpriced gaming branded stuff.

I'm using a £10 Logitech K120 keyboard and a Logitech MX300 mouse.
