What Linux Operating Systems do you like?

Fedora is my goto, it has a large install base which means things get tested more and they tend to keep the important toolchains regularly updated on very recent versions which is great for hardware compatibility. Don't much care about the DE or customising the look and feel and don't want to mess about too much, could happily use kde gnome sway cosmic etc. The main thing that makes a distro a distro is the package manager IMO, which Fedora does well.

Nobara (KDE version with stock KDE desktop) for me... basically Fedora with some sensible preinstalled tweaks

I'm back on Gentoo, I did the distro hop a while back trying nearly every one under the Sun ,going down the rabbit hole trying to find something that felt suitable. Always ended up running into something that didn't quite work or lacking.

In the end I reverted back to what I know and happily have everything up and running as I want it to and only took half a day as opposed to a few days of compiling about 20 years ago :)

Add Mint to that.

I'd say Mint too. It sorts out a bunch of extra stuff that even Fedora or Ubuntu don't. As a first time user that is valuable. I've seen people give almost give up on Linux because they had to manually set up a few things in Ubuntu but when they went to Mint it all just worked.

So what's on every ones To-Do list?

I'll probably have another play with Alpine Linux desktop but this time i'll try KDE plasma instead of Gnome.

Before October, get Mint up and running on my OH's laptop and a NUC I occasionally use.

Almost certain to get Bazzite fully up and running on my gaming pc. I've not looked into it much, like if optiscaler works and FSR4 etc.

Not sure what to put on my secondary pc yet.

In reality I've only ever tinkered with Linux over the years, this should be the year of a full switch over thanks to MS :)

I'm trying to start a web hosting business so I'm playing around with virtual machines and building a Django backend along with various other things. I have no idea if it'll work out but I'm having fun all the same.

I can't think of anything less fun, i'll probably change my mind when you're loaded. :)

Finally back on Fedora - put it off for a long time because I assumed Wayland and Nvidia wouldn't be a great experience, but it seems fine!

Not playing many games any more either so I guess that helps...
