What "man jobs" have you done today?

Skim job on top. I'll post pics.

EDIT:
Could have been prettier, but I only had my hammer & chisel :D It looks like it is sitting proud in the rubbish phone pics, but there is between 5-10mm along the length.

He wouldn't have a problem dealing with that but it might take a little longer if he needs to let a backing coat stiffen before skimming. If hes skimming the whole room then he has plenty of stuff to crack on with while that sets so it wouldn't make any difference. If you did it yourself you'd want to do it with plaster rather than cement, since he will be there anyway I'd just let him crack on with it.

While the wife is away this week, I continued my basement work...

Just waiting on some more rubber tiles to come now. Then cable tidy and mount some mirrors and the "gym" area will be done.

So started work on the mini kitchen area.

Canyon Aeroad SLX 9.0 LTD di2 :D :D

This thing is a weapon. I've not given it ANYTHING like it deserves in my crap commute to work, but the weather has been so poor. I love it though. Their bikes are fantastic. I have the Endurace 6.0 105 on the trainer and it's great, nice position, especially for training. More upright. The aeroad slopes you forwards (fixed on the seat post) but I like that. You won't be disappointed!

I've ordered my Mrs an ultimate, trying to get her out with me in the spring.

:p

Brilliant, just what i wanted to hear. Ive got the Aeroad CF SLX 9.0 SL coming in Glow Red. I was looking at the black but they couldnt give me a date so went for red.

Nice. I'll need to be ordering some blinds very soon. Seem like a good price.

I'm still undecided what to go for in the front room. I have a bay window which did have curtains up when we got the house. I was thinking blinds, but because the drop is quite large, and that we would need three separate blinds, I'm not sure it would look so great.

Anyone had any experience with putting blinds up in a bay window? Any other options?

We had vertical blinds in our bay when we moved in, 3 separate ones and they were pretty annoying.

Replaced them for curtains and used a pole that you bend yourself, though I can't find where we bought it from now. Our bay is pretty naff though so it's not perfect but it's good for now.

OK, another question....

I have a socket. From that socket comes a spur to another socket in that room. I want to add a third socket in there, but cannot of course take another spur. What's the simple solution?

You don't have a lot of options if you want to do it correctly other than extend the ring.

Just cut and fitted a new shower screen seal as the old is discoloured and broken. I think this one will hold the water in better as well, I made sure to order it with a deeper blade from the bottom of the glass to the bath sill, and it seems to butt up to the silver post better without leaving a gap.
