What "man jobs" have you done today?

added a washing machine cold feed into my kitchen...

Pics to follow, what I learnt; Don't start at 6pm Wednesday and think you'll be done before bed - I was done 5pm this afternoon. Oh and buy Brillo-pads if your cleaning old pipe work, otherwise soldering doesn't work well

Day 5 of the shed build, managed to find an old tarpaulin for the roof, 2 hours after I had finished the PVC shed felt arrived!!!!!! Will leave until it needs replacing, took ages in the wind so want to see how long it lasts.

So far its cost me 6 hinges (found in the garage) and the nails and staples for the nail gun.

Not long now

2 windows in the front will let in light, but most of the time if I'm inside then the doors will be open. I may cut some windows in the sides if needed, but I'd rather have the wall space to hang stuff.

Mainly I am using it to store my ride on mower, and 2 other ride on's I got for the kids (cheap, 40year old ebay ones that I am repairing). Along with that a few 12v ride on jeeps and kids garden toys. If there is any room left I'll put my strimmer, chainsaw, garden tools etc. It looks big, but with all this kit there wont be much room to use as a workshop (my first aim) but at least the garage will have some space for projects!

Started on the chicken run. Got the frame up and door frame and door in. Coop into place and will start the mesh tomorrow

Stick blender died so I took it apart and identified the issue. Just needs new carbon brushes on the motor. £5 on eBay and it'll be good as new, temporarily tidied the brushes until delivery. Look at the soot on that brush!

Finished off (bar a few minor bits) the chicken run

So many zip ties and bits to make on the mesh - hands are killing me

The chickens will rid your lawn of any moss you have, and the grass, and the soil too destructive little XXXXs they are.
I would not be without ours even so, put them a dust bath in the run they will love it

A job I wish I hadn't started
First thing this morning cleared all the stuff off the slabs that runs down the side of bungalow- Washed them with a strong slab cleaner and left it confident of the results.- Hosed it all down and they were just the same.
Spent 2 back breaking hours pressure washing it.
50-50 bleach next time.

I used patio magic on some slabs last week. Within a few days they went from green to brown and then I went at them with a jet washer and they are spotless. I was impressed.

Cut it up with the chop saw

And angled the ends to make chunky plant markers
