What "man jobs" have you done today?

Very nice @Maccapacca

Busy weekend - my eldest's birthday celebrations have has to be postponed due to the restrictions so while we wait to rearrange did something a bit different

Got the fire pit going

Takeout pizza (her choice) around the fire

Then after s'mores round the fire got the beach tent set up in the back garden, filled with beanbags cushions and blankets, hung a sheet off the washing line and projected a film onto it :D

For a few jobs on today and just posting this while waiting for oil and paint to dry.

I have some touching up of decoration in the study but also cleared my desk (oak worktop) which was set up in a hurry during lockdown.

Sanded it down including chamfering the edges

Then it's just has a coat of worktop oil. Will be getting three over the course of the day.

Off to do the second now :D

Was just about to pack up when I remembered that the whole reason we had the oil in the first place was to seal the Rubber wood worktop in the utility

And that's it for the day :D

Ah I was being blind (looking at it on my phone) I thought it was a dirty mark on the wall from an up stand you had removed. Did the masking tape come away without pulling any paint off the wall?

A friend of mine bought a house 2 doors down. They have big plans but gutted the bathroom.

Hands are sore. Lots of blisters and still need to take the loo and shower tray out, but that was just under 10 hours work a cross this weekend.

Yeah, pretty good, it's been painted a few months and was low tack, but protected the walk enough whilst oiling :D

What oil did you use for the finish? I've got a kitchen needing re-sanded but the oil I purchased from Ikea is far too dark for what I would like. Yours is the finish i'm after.

For some strange reason, one window in our house is wooden. It was in appalling condition with the glass on the verge of dropping out. So removed it, stripped it down and fitted new beading and putty. Repainted too.

Was a two man job to refit it as its from one of the bedrooms.

Hopefully will last until we get round to replacing with a upvc one.
