What "man jobs" have you done today?

Yes, I have wood, lol :p

Last delivery was September last year and we had three logs left (although did have s bit from trees I'd chopped down the year before) so does last a decent time :D

Due to the upcoming lockdown, I've had to order 600kgs of material from Wickes, click and collect. Pick it up then take it to a family members house.... with a bad back... :-(

Been in lockdown in wales for the past few weeks, but weather has been awful.......I picked up some timber and feather edge before the lockdown to put up some new fencing around my decking to block out the nosey neighbours and to finish my outdoor kitchen, just need some dry weather to get it done

took all (bar one that I couldn't) internal handles off and applied bit of WD 40 to them, even though only 2 were actually squeaky.

Attended funeral and moved soil - there's some dark humour in there I think. Father-in-law passed away and so yesterday and this morning I was moving pond dig spoil into the skip.

Installed three under wall unit lights in the kicthen

I like the under cabinet lighting although I want it to come on automatically as I walk in to the kitchen. Seen a few advertised on FudBook but not brave enough to buy from them!

I have a separate lightswitch (well one of the four on the wall plate) for the under unit lights so nice and easy

I have my under cabinet lights (not smart) plugged into a hue smart plug, and my kitchen ceiling lights are hue GU10's.

When I walk into the kitchen the motion sensors turns them on, works pretty well.

Finally got round to painting the skirting boards in my office room.

Also put some new curtains up in the diner kitchen.

House is slowly coming together after being here four months now.

Very easily done with smart lighting.

Sounds exactly like what I'm after. The problem I was trying to get around is that there are 3 sets of kitchen cupboards that we want illuminated with no reasonable way of electrically connecting them together without the wires being seen. So perhaps 3 sets of undercabinet lighting connected to the one hue smart plug?

I'm sure you can get battery powered lights under units like that, although not sure they'd be 'smart'.

When I fitted my kitchen (10 years ago), I wanted under cabinet lighting on all the cupboards, I took spurs from existing GU10 fittings, fished those to the nearest wall, then ran cable around the top of the walls (There is a 125mm zone allowed at the wall/ceiling interface), and where cabinets are, I made some small holes and fished the cable down behind the plasterboard (only 20cm or so), then put coving up which hides it, you can't see any cables at all and I managed to reach all 4 'sets' of cupboards.. I did it this way because I wanted all lights to come on with 1 switch.

More fence painting today. Hope to finish the first coat on the inside slats tomorrow before the football. I'm thinking that may be the last decent day I'll get before weather picks up next year though!
