What "man jobs" have you done today?

30cm high from which point within the garden?...the lowest point or from the point of the fence??? How high is the fence 3ft, 4ft, 5ft....can you tell from the pictures???

also looks like from the new pictures, that decking was already in place when the property was purchased and higher than the new decking........

You cant just raise your garden 2ft and then stick a deck ontop and take that as the new reference. If I was the neighbour I would definitely be raising the issue with the council.

You sound like someone who would buy a house at the bottom of a hill and then go complain that everyone was looking down on them.

And you call the other guy a scurge on society....that above comment says more about you, then it does about him. Careful with that hole your digging, its starting to get too deep for you to climb out of.

Took trailer to local builders merchants and had half ton of pea gravel. - Also treated wife to two small Trugs so she can hump gravel - don't want her using a bucket as it's much harder.

Trouble being retired I never even knew it was bank holiday this week end. Good job I went.

Thats the trouble doing DIY - you always think you can do it and by half way you think about the digger but by then you say bugger that for just half a garden so you carry on.

Killing you back isn't worth it :D

I dug over a few metres of garden that is infested with hawthorn trees and raspberry bushes. Not weeded that bit since we moved in 8 years ago.

What looked simple turned out to be horrible as it was a solid mat of roots. Ah well, done now.

The bit I'm attempting to do right now is 22m2, still got the other 12m2 or so at a later date!

The builders have left for the BH weekend with the skip, tools and planks in place, so would be rude not too .....

Need to get rid of some more wall and path, from the steps up to the garden
