What "man jobs" have you done today?

All done, I'm knackered, more from carting my office downstairs again. Still need some more trunking which is on order then I'll finish off tidying up the cables. There's a lot as I have my gaming PC (which I use as a screen for my work MacBook), a second monitor for a customer laptop/personal MacBook and then two Dell workstations. Oh, I also need the bit of wood that will go between the tiles and the laminate.

What's with the insulation, didn't realise it was necessary.

My man job was to change the 12v bulbs in my bathroom to leds. Bit tricky as the transformers are ac not dc so not many leds to choose from. Tried one and it flickered then went off. Figure my issue is that the current bulbs are mr16 and have a transformer each (4 bulbs in total) and I don't think the leds pull enough current so my small job is now going to be a case of rewire the lights:rolleyes:. Access isn't too bad as it's the loft (with no insulation near the lights) but kneeling on joists hurts my knees. My plan is to run 4 leds at 5W each if one transformer and hope its enough.

It's Duralay 3mm Laminate flooring & glueless and was £40 from memory. It was a last minute decision to do it and I was stuck with getting everything from B&Q, the other underlays they had in stock had really poor reviews. All in it will be around £180 for everything by the time I'm done.

Is it quite a firm underlay then? At first glance with it being solve insulation I'd have thought it would be squishy. Oh it does look good BTW sorry if I didn't mention that:D. I find it a shame that with an office chair it needs to be a hard floor otherwise you end up with cropcircles:cry:. I tend to wear old man slippers to keep my feet warm on mine:p.

Yeah it's really firm and deceptively heavy. The floor is warm this morning after the heating came on first thing.

@Simon you seem to know what you are on about, I need something to go between the laminate and the tiles in the hallway, any recommendations?

My mother in laws Nest Thermostat Heatlink broke. Just completely stopped working. Luckily Google sent out a replacement as it was only a month out of warranty, so replaced that yesterday.

What was tempting was that they offer to cover costs up to £100 to temporarily install a replacement thermostat whilst waiting for delivery and then another £100 to install the new Nest Heat link. I was debating making up an invoice for her for "Martynt74 Plumbing services". However they also wanted a plumber registration number and it's at that point it's starting to go a little too into fraud territory :(

Deep cleaned the oven as it's been making carbony burning smells. I'm now the proud owner of 2 stained brown hands and quite a bit less skin cells than yesterday. I look like I've been putting fake tan on people :D
