What "man jobs" have you done today?

Raised a row of concrete slabs which had been bedded on mud to widen our front garden path.

Filled the square holes with topsoil and, although apparently it's much to early, chucked grass seed on top and will let nature take its course.

We got the Ava for the patio below, but then I noticed the moss on the roof above and figured I should tackle that first. Good thing too as the patio was caked by the time I finished.

Actually, I bought some patio black spot remover about 6 months ago for the patio, but to give it the best chance of working I told myself I should pressure wash it first, then I thought I should do the roof first, before I do the patio…

I feel like Hal in that scene from Malcolm in the middle trying to change a light bulb :D

Good thinking, any particular one you recommend?

Not really as they are all quite generic due to regulations on what goes in to them.

What I would highly recommend is a battery powered sprayer and not those pump-20-times/spray for 3-minutes things, they're crap! I use a Makita sprayer, the DUS054Z and it makes any chemical application so much easier.

Oh man…not another tool that I now want!

I only have dewalt batteries and their sprayer isn’t available in the uk by the looks of it, not sure I can justify buying into a new ecosystem, as much as I also hate the pump ones!

Literally me on weekends. I love Malcolm in the middle. We have them all on our Plex server.
Today worked all day. Tomorrow.... Might tackle one of the endless Jobs. I usually end up doing a Hal and none of them get done, but I make progress on a couple and gain 5 more.

Painted primer block, at least 4 coats, on a Osborne Maroon feature wall. Tomorrow it will then be polycell 3-in-1 base coat and then finish with Pale Mortlake Cream to match the rest of the wall. All before the new sofa arrives. Next weekend sees the rest of the walls repainted.

That colour simply burns through the primer! Thankfully there's very little deviation of colour now.

Then after that it will be onto the stairs and landing. The Mrs wants that white. Then I suspect I'll be following up with the bedroom.

Afraid so!

The last pump sprayer I used was one of those Verve ones from B&Q that was meant to be good. I'd pump it until the relief valve would "psssst!" once it was up to pressure but it would leak whatever chemical you had in it from the pressure relief valve. The pressure wouldn't last long and had to bend down and pump again and again, I had enough!

Yeah, I tested the black spot remover with a pump one at the very beginning and have been dreading having to use it for the whole patio.

I’m half tempted to just whack it in my £50 wagner paint sprayer and try that. Or just say **** it, put on a respirator and goggles, and fill up the foam cannon on the pressure washer with the stuff :D

Dug out some "shrubs", a few ground elder and a rose (which was then planted in the back garden) from the front.of the house

Then started splitting the logs I'd cut up last weekend.

This bungalow we have now is the only house/bungalow we have had that has moss on roof - First job I had to do was dig some new soakaways as they were all blocked solid with moss and sand -So bought 25lt of industrial moss killer and sprayed the roof tiles (concrete tiles) to kill moss then spent a few months going on roof and using a paint scraper scraping it off - Then give it a weak solution every year and my roof is moss free. - Need to do tarmac at end of drive andthe outside of greenhose.
It was hard going but now it's easy to just spray the roof -also bought an extension for sprayer head which mean's I don't have to get on roof anymore.
Moss is a total PITA.

Job today was cutting Acer tree back down as it was growing too high - it will now have a canopy about 6ft from ground.

I stumbled across some exterior cleaning vids on youtube and it's so satisfying to see them use the pressure washing surface cleaner with hot water on a roof to get rid of the moss and transform it.

Pruned some shrubs and generally gave the garden a tidy. Should have done it months ago but we've just had the time, or it's been too grim.

Had an absolute mare today. The radiator I bought was too big. I only discovered this after I did all of the brackets and then fitted the wrong tails. I then went to fit the sink and the compression fitting was weeping. I'm officially done with compression fittings. A trip to SF and Wickes to get some Hep2o tap connectors and 32mm waste pipe. Cue the ******* saga of 32mm push fit / solvent fit being totally different sizes. Whoever did this needs to die in a fire (sorry not sorry).

Another trip to Wickes I bought a Tote tool bag as I am about to lose my mind at this canvas technicians bag folding over. I lose my wrench. I almost burn the house down in anger.

Anyway, I fit the push fit pipework as the solvent weld, whilst preferred, doesn't fit in this stupid ass chrome sink trap. Fuming.

Long story short - this p.o.s chrome sink trap that cost me 40 quid is leaking and the push to open sink plug is also leaking. Can I just silicone the crap out of this?
