What "man jobs" have you done today?

Also rolled the carpet out and roughly trimmed it so we could get the bed upstairs out the way as running out of room.

Just need to fit the skirting tomorrow then I can fit properly

It’s herringbone LVT from flooring 365. Didn’t want laminate going into the en-suite with the shower.

Laid on new chipboard floor over the joists. you need a perfectly flat subfloor for LVT.

Bit of change finally getting carpets in all upstairs, also fitted all new spindles, just need to buy 1 more and finish the oak trim.

Not sure wether I will clad the white door which houses the hot water tank (oak or oak veneer..... Oak is expensive)

Gutted the guest ensuite for a complete redecoration.

Radiator off, spotlights in, walls scraped. Next is a sand, wash, PVA, and a multi finish skim coat over every surface.

Nearly finished this project now, just the underlay and carpets to do.

Modern radiators are really powerful for the size now, and almost ridiculously cheap for what you get. 5,500 BTUs for £55 I think it was.

Looking at flooring for small bathroom. Has anyone fitted laminate waterproof flooring in their bathroom.and reccomend it ?. Is it a good easy fitting option which will last year's without getting waterdamaged easy ?.

Aslong as it's waterproof / damp proof rated ?. Been looking in wicks for some flooring options for bathroom

@dLockers I would heartily recommend one of these basin waste seals. I’ve had no end of bother with seeping water down the threads of waste traps under basins until a mate pointed me in this direction. Literally a couple of quid and just works. Wouldn’t bother installing a basin waste without one now:

A somewhat tardy vote for Loctite or other branded liquid hydraulic / fluid sealants for many jobs where you'd struggle with PTFE tape on threads. Just taken down all the taped fittings on a big 14HP compressor that leaked down overnight and did all the threaded joints with Loctite Hydraulic Sealant. Seems to have fixed them all save the unloader valve, which is a Heath Robinson bodge with several stepped size fittings to effect a hasty repair by a previous owner. Will make a one piece adapter at some time.

Tucked into the logs again this morning - going at a log store bay at a time

Pulled out the cut logs

Introduced them to the maul

Then stacked them back in their bay

One bay and a big old stack under the builders bags to go

Another 2 or 3 sessions should see it done

Very neat, my back aches just looking at the photos though :)

More painting.. rest of the room now to use up the remaining tin of paint.

The evil Osborne Maroon wall has been abliterated. Only took 10 coats in total - four deluxe stain block, three polycell 3-in-1 base coat and then the new colour chalk emulsion coats. That also sorted a few plaster imperfections over some filled holes in the plastertboard too.
