What "man jobs" have you done today?

Finished off two pieces of driftwood.

Really nice job.

Now got a virtually empty loft -Just a few essentials left along with loads of stacked empty plastic boxes.

Just got to get some to tip and rest to charity shop. Hate lofts.

garage needs the same but that is full of I might need it in future junk.

Ha ha it has a membrane and about 6" of gravel!

The horsetail in particular grows through anything but to be fair the gravel makes it very easy to pull most stuff out :D
Imo membranes are utterly pointless, weeds just groe onto or if the membrane is old enough, straight through then you've got the difficulty of getting the roots out.

Will stick my hand up and say that our membrane has, over the years, been no-where near pointless.

If it does degrade, then it will not be an issue to replace.

Haha...I just dumped the old kitchen and raged at the fact I hadn't removed some of the 90 degree angle iron. This was in spite of me removing about 40 and storing them from the other bits. May need it in the future is a fun thing.

I also sold my old fridge and wrapped it up for the lad in bubble wrap. Bubble wrap I'd saved in case I need it in the future. It is now the future and I used it, and I was mad it was being used. Humans are dumb.

I finally setup a water butt that I bought almost 3 years ago. It turned out to be a faff when I tried to remove one of the brackets holding the down pipe. I don't know what screws the guy used but they wouldn't come out with my impact driver and it shredded one of the heads in the process. I managed to do it but now I have one screw half pocking out of the wall which is really annoying.

Me too. Finally finished moving two water butts that were in the wrong place to round the back of the shed.
Built a concrete plinth a couple of weeks ago to raise them up off the ground and keep them stable.
Fitted new taps, but one is leaking so needs some sealant.
Joined them together with a linking pipe.

Something like this might help?

Just learnt my Samsung heat pump dryer is delay end and not delay start..makes limited sense given the dry cycle is heavily dependent on the ambient temp. I just want it to come on when electricity is inexpensive!

I'm going to give it a try, they seem like a good thing to have in a toolbox but I don't think they will help here just because the screws are so difficult to move even when the head was in good condition. If not, i'll snap it off and move the bracket up a tad :)

have never used a membrane .. i use salt sand not washed .. and if you do see a plant growing thru pluck it and salt the area :)
