What "man jobs" have you done today?

You can service the flush mech/seal through the hole? Or is just that these units can't be serviced to that degree and you replace when they fail?

Btw stonemason? More like a moan station.
Lol gimp

Yeah the whole thing can be serviced through the button. The flush mech can be uncoupled and pulled out/replaced. Or at least the bits that are mechanical can be serviced.

Oh I seeee, we've moved on from the little round button and have a square unit you can remove. Very sensible!

Operation rip off dlockers is a go. Check in with me in 2026 :p

Just managed to run out of jointing tape stuff for tanking kit. Any of the big sheds selling it? I can only see 36 quid maipei stuff....

Edit:

Tough day but managed to sus out my attic connection --- the plumber put a 2x22m+15mm T piece which feeds the temporary shower. I can swap this T out for a 3x22mm T piece perfectly. So I hooked up the water to ensure the shower adaptor was solid - and it was.

So onto Wickes to grab some No More Ply (what a load of crap this stuff is, never, ever again) to replace my mistake on putting the boards on backwards, and some tile adhesive.

I ran out of tape for the last few bits so had to spank 38 quid on the Maipei stuff from Screwfix; but TBH it was significantly better.

I've got 2 patch jobs on the tileboard left, but I am onto tiling.

I'm going to start with the shower wall I think, so I can then cut the marble into it (versus lots of tricky smaller cuts).

What are peoples thoughts on the 60x30 marble tiles on that wall with the niche? I think if they rest on the bath it is literally "just right" but zero tolerance.

Why did you tank? Is the board not waterproof?

 they're actually not too expensive. Think I paid 150 for the frame and 120 for the toilet.

The boards are water resistant but it's a bit of a folly. It basically means water won't screw them up but it won't stop water. I wouldn't normally bother but because I had joins and loads of tanking paint left over I'd do the lot.

Love it.

Although, and it's a bit late now - vertical flush plates are chavvy; it should be mounted horizontally.
      I am so tired and lacking any kind of humour, my heart rate went to 180 on the bolded words. I hate you.

Made decent progress for a day --- had totally forgot it is Easter Sunday tomorrow, so I had to ditch the last 2 bits of marble and bin what adhesive I had left to RACE to Wickes for another bag of adhesive so I can knock the floor out. I am surprised I haven't lost my license

Battens fine --- I gave myself enough to cut into the bath (praying to god the bath lines up to the marble perfectly  )

I caste off from the left hand wall because that's what my maths said. Unfortunately I forgot the niche was leaning more to the left, so I am left with a 9mm slither

Neyy bother though I'll just cut the tile a bit wider and pack it out.

Almost certain I don't have enough clips either so may have to eyeball the last few for the sake of the floor :cry:

I just wondered why the bottom right marble tile is missing and thought that batten extended to the wall

 yeah other than the slither cockup nothing that entertaining yet.

I've just ordered some more tile clips as it seems our glorious capitalist overlords work the gods day. Hopefully it is a 3pm job and not a 11pm job

You do manage to plow through stuff at a rate of knots. Compared to me anyway. I've not touched the bathroom for a week.
