What "man jobs" have you done today?

I put the doors on our new wardrobes before work this morning, which finishes off a rather major refurbishment of our bedroom involving pull down a partitioned shower unit, replacing floor boards etc:

Ripped my bathroom apart to remove the cistern and change the syphon. Turned out the old one was discontinued, and I had to change the whole poxy thing for a new type which meant having to take it all apart.

Would have been easier if the previous owners didn't use no-nails instead of sealant when they boxed in the toilet and pipework.

Carried on with the kitchen, fitted some under cupbord lighting, just need to fit the sockets in the back of the cupboard tonight.

oooooo. I have been looking at fitting under cabinet lighting in our kitchen but couldn't get my head around how I am going to hide the wiring so up to now I haven't bother.

Do you have any more details ?

You say you are fitting sockets in the back of the cupboard
1- - how are you getting power to the socket ?
2 - will the socket be visible when you open the cupboard or is it going behind the back panel of the cupboard ?
3 - are you going to have to take the cupboard off the wall to get the back panel off ?
My back panels only seem to come off from the back which would mean removing the the cupboard from the wall which isn't realistic.

If you manage to take any during and after pics that would be handy.
also where will the switch be to turn them on ?

Finally fitted the radiator in our living room. We've been relying on the wood burner up until now, which isn't necessarily a problem, it's rather nice actually, but without a cheap supply of wood yet it was rather expensive.

It involved having to extend one pipe as it was too short - bit of soldering, refill system, bleed, check for leaks and jobs a good 'un. Makes a change, something usually happens to make a simple job a pain in the arse.

Put up kitchen rack thingie between two cupboards over teh sink. Was a bit of wasted space and as there isn't that much cupboard space made sense.

Consists of 3 x 25mm chromed poles that are normally used in wardrobes held between the cupboards with heavy duty chromed brass end pieces.

Will take some pics and put up later on.

Must be good as has passed the Mrs inspection and quality audit :p

Before it was plastered i installed a mains feed which would then be drilled through to the back of the cupboards and into a socket inside, i wasnt really sure what the plan was going to be at this point but thought it was a good idea to have some power going into them just incase i needed it. This was quite lucky as i forgot about the power for the extractor fan:D

When you open the cupboard you will be able to see the socket, the on off switch at the moment is going to be controlled by the plug but after ive finished the tiling and little utility room i will be installing a PIR and timer. As they are LED i'll probably set it to an hour and leave them on forever

Damn :( I thought you had some clever trick to take a feed off the socket below.

My wall is tiled up to the cupboard as well so that makes it even harder.
I don't fancy cutting a big hole in the back of the cupboard either, it certainly wouldn't go down well with the missus :D

Hmm. In that case i would go with the battery powered LED strips, you could stick one of them directly to the cupboard and being LED the battery will last for ages. I guess the only alternative is to power them off the socket below. You could run some super thin trunking up the tile to the cupboard

Installed some plinths beneath the washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer in the utility room and painted the boxing in of the pipes.
Best decision ever to install heating in the utility room, especially on a day like today when theres 6 inches of snow outside.
