what meats you having for xmas day

Turkey tends to be drier and bland in my humble experiences. :)
I mean I like Turkey, don't get me wrong. But paying a premium for it where chicken is actually better anyway seems a bit of a faff for tradition.

Depends how it's cooked in my experience..

Thing is we buy turkeys that are larger than chickens, and then expect to cook them in the same way.. If you had a same size chicken and cooked the same.. simliar results.. IMO..

you should check out stalekrackers deep fried turkey.hes a good laugh but my how the turkey turns out in under a hr is amazing!

I’m making a panchetta. Rolled belly of pork stuffed with herbs and garlic. And super crispy skin.

Because it’s Christmas, you need beef. So I’m making steak tartare canapés (with smoked quails egg) to tick that box!

My folks are for some reason obsessed with three bird roasts. I'm honestly convinced at this point that the three birds are a turkey, a chicken, and a different turkey.

Mind you, I'm not paying for it so I'm hardly going to complain.

If it was up to me I'd be doing beef, would be the one time of year I'd feel justified in spending big on a nice cut.

Honey marinated baked ham - this will be cooked on the evening of the 23rd, so it can be used for ham and cheese croissants for breakfast Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, as well as for main Christmas dinner. There is only Mum and I this year so a whole turkey is a waste, therefore the plan is to get two breasts, these will then be stuffed with sausage meat and stuffing, rolled and wrapped in bacon, one for Christmas Day and one for Boxing Day.
