What mid range card?

Currently have an Nvidia 460 in the PC and am looking to replace it, have around 180 to spend, have had a look around and have found the choice bewildering. My sons play the odd games on the system so am hoping to something with a bit more poke than the 460.

I've just been looking to get something like a GTX 560 Ti but only because 5 is greater than 4 Any help would be appreciated.

If you can get stretch to 185 then the 7850 on pre order now is probably your best bet. 1gb cards will probably start to struggle over the next year or so.

Hi there,

For that budget, I would have a look for a HD 7850 2GB. It would also be well worth overclocking it - see here.

As psychodil says, this one would be a good option.

Yes you can't go wrong with tht HIS 7850 2GB, its gonna run anything with ease and has great cooler too.

Another vote for the 7850, beast of a card considering the overclock and lack of competition.

7850 is a great card but if you prefer nvidia in your machine, the 480 is a steal at the mo.

I too have a gtx 460 and sometimes think about buying a faster card for around that price but I don't think there is a card worth buying yet for £180 that's enough of an increase over the gtx 460. Just my opinion.

I'd say a 7850 like everyone else, but you HAVE to overclock it to get the performance out of it. If you get a goodun that'll overclock really hig,h then you're banging on the door of a HD 7950 so I've read.
