What MMORPG are you currently playing?

Back on US DAoC, the new clustering has seen a nice population and with lots of EU people on there its a good spread throughout the day. Never though i'd see the day again where i'd be 8v8ing at 11am GMT. There's even non powerlevel groups xping normally which I havent seen for a good 3-4 years

Its a shame it took so long to get it right, but a lower population base has forced them to reduce the difficulty of artifacts and ML's so everything can be done with about 1 group except ML10. Doubt you will see origins now and thats probably a good thing. Clustering RP, classic, PvP servertypes all together is the best thing they've done/doing in a long time

still playing WOW, but much less than used to, thinking about maybe giving LOTRO another whirl, as I played it for the month after buying it on release, and wasn't that impressed, but I hear its much more polished now.

Playing a little bit of Conan but haven't got into it nearly as much as I'd hoped to be honest.

Was a massive WAR fan but it's just broken, laggy and the more I read of the "improvements" they're putting into it just makes me sad. :(

Looking at starting up LOTRO now though :)

Started playing EQ2 again after almost a year out of MMOs, although very casually now. I'd go back to EQ1 in a flash, if my friends were there.

I used to be addicted to Star Wars Galaxies (SWG) until they wrecked it. Plus I was spending far too much time on it! These days I casually play both Eve and LOTRO. I'm not going to give WoW a try just yet even though a good friend of mine keeps trying to get my on! It's hard enough to find time to play two let alone a third game!

at the mo I'm playing WoW, but I only get a few hours a week in which to play. Personally I've been playing MMO's since EnB and I think WoW is the best current MMO by far. Out of the MMO's I've played I think I got the most enjoyment out of EVE when it first came out, that was such a great time to be playing it. Neocron was also great, despite the bugs I loved that game.

hmmm forgot about EQ2, played the Beta ages ago, but never moved onto the full game, now downloading the free trial :)

Playing wow atm, waiting for the global mir3 server to start open beta :)

Being playing shadow priest for raiding, makes a big change from holy pally(60 raids) and prot pally (70 raids). Never did get my pally to 80 :p

Meh, from what ive read here, they just need to stick a 3d engine on UO and i can ride my thief/mage on my pearlescent mount naked around trinsic or vesper again! :D

You might want to look into Mortal Online, it's being developed by a group of Swedish UO fans and frankly looks promising. Going into beta soon too ;) so get your name down!

LOTRO here. Brilliant game, keeping my eye on Aion though (have been for 2 years already :o ) but this 'Westernisation' process is just taking the mick now.

Im currently playing none... :(

I was a vet of SWG from its UK release and played until the NGE hit and in my eyes finally landed the death blow. Ive tried a couple others, WoW, Dark and light or whatever it was supposed to be called but all are too linear and scripted and instanced for my liking.

Im keeping my eye on several in development including Star Trek and the new Star Wars: The Old Republic but I dont have much faith any of these will be sandbox or come even close to the integration of proffesions and as such a strong community as SWG.

Lotro is a nice game mate, it's one of the few MMOs that I've actually found relaxing to play, I never felt in any rush to do anything other than explore :D

Totally agree with this, not sure what the highest levels are like as I am yet to reach them but the game seems so much more chilled and friendly, spend loads of time just wandering around exploring and the world, which always seems to be busy, something I never saw in WoW unless I was standing in one of the main cities. Its nice to be able to play without the pressure of endless hours and hours of grind to get the next shiny item that everyone will brag about until the next one comes along.

Quick question about LOTRO actually, I know there are a lot of people on these forums who play on the Laurelian server on there, whats the deal with the "Shadows"? They were some band doing a show in the Shire and there must have been about 200 people sitting and politely watching (something else you wouldnt see on WoW, within 5secs there would be someone on stage, probably a naked blood elf female, jumping up and down spamming "Gief Gold PLXXXXX" and ruining everyones experience) I watched most of the show and it was pretty damn good. Do they do it regularly?

Same, SWG (Pre CU) was something special - the best game I've ever played. :(

Hopefully the new Star Wars MMO will be good as I like KotOR, though I doubt it will be better than SWG was.

DAoC

No other MMO has a PVP ruleset that works so utterly well and blends with the PVE element.

WAR was developed by the same people apparently, personally I think WAR pvp was designed on a friday afternoon while the dev's were thinking about a pint down the pub...

war does pvp? Ive only played zerg vs zerg. Or me vs empty sever. Tell me where i find this lol.

I would be playing Tabula Rasa still, but they ****-canned it... *sadface*

WoW got old, EvE keeps getting me hooked for a week then leaving again, and AoC was a buggy, broken PoS from day one. LOTRO trial just screamed 'WoW, lulz' at me.

Tabula Rasa was deeply flawed mate, didn't help that after years in development they canned most of it and had to use the existing models with an entirely new and poorly put together storyline. They never had anywhere for it to go and wasted millions developing elements that were never used due to this new storyline and mythology. I enjoyed it though, it was very innovative :(

Yeah that kind of thing happens quite a lot, especially in Bree and Rivendell. There are also many regular events, such as the Friday Night Tavern Night at the Green Dragon in the Shire. You quite quickly get to recognise the guilds who are doing regular stuff and then keep an eye out on the forums and their guild forums to see whats happening when.

None at the mo, unless EQ Progression server or a DAoC Origins server is started its looking very unlikely i will. Huxley is my last hope!
