Just wondering what mods people have done to their bike, even the most trivial things. More just out of interest, but also looking for inspiration lol.

I'll start the list:

R&G Crash Bungs
R&G Mini Indicators Rear
Tail Tidy
Mototrax Flush mount Front Indicators
ASV Levers
Quill Exhaust
TRE
Goodridge Braided Hoses
Double Bubble Screen
Smaller Wing Mirrors
Heated Grips - Off for the Summer though

There a few more thing that I want to get done, like a new air filter, but will probably look at getting a power commander at the same time to make sure fuelling is correct :).

Techmount GPS mount + Zumo 660
Buell pegs

Soon to have Double Bubble screen and maybe Pazzo levers.

The previous owner was cool enough to fit little practical things like a rear hugger, an extended front mudguard then went and stuck on a nasty hundred-quid ebay silencer :(

maybe Pazzo levers.

You should have a look at the ASV ones dude, the amount of adjustability on them in fantastic, really makes a difference when you can set it up so precisely depending on gloves, how you're riding and what not.
Plus they fold backwards so avoid damage during any light knocks they receive, and they also come with a full warranty. Absolutely love mine, and will no doubt get some more for the next bike I get.

What does this do?

Sorry for my ignorance.

All I have done so far is smaller indicators on the back and had the wheels powder coated

a lot of modern sports bikes put a butterfly valve somewhere in the exhaust. It is semi cosed and low revs and at higher revs the ECU opens it via a servo. (a lot of Ferrari's / Astons have same :))

Though some early bikes like the FZR1000R EXUP it was touted to improve low end power, these days it's there purely to reduce noise emission at low revs for regulations.

I just pulled the pulley off so the valve is always open, gives a nice little low end boost and sounds abit meaner....

-1 tooth on front sprocket gives you more acceleration at the expense of top speed. So instead of being able to pull maybe 185 in top bike now pings off the limiter at 173 ish. Best mod you can do on a bike, and makes you feel like you've added 15bhp on the butt dyno :)

Depends on what you want for bike though, as higher revs mean a less relaxed ride and worse fuel economy...

I fixed the error in speedo with speedohealer to offset the gearing change.. (-14.5% change if I remember right including effect of lower profile rubber)

I'll check them out, ta.

In the meantime these do look rather tempting - http://www.pazzoracing.com/build_step1.html

Cheers.

I know about the 1 tooth up down caper with the sprockets I didn't realize that's what you were meaning. Now i look at it i understand.

Cheers

I wish I could get either Pazzos or ASV levers.

No one appears to do them for bellow the 91 VFR.

Oh well all the more reason for me to get another bike in 2 years LOL

http://asvinventions.com/GSX-R-750-96-03/ Are the levers I got. they've got 100 clicks of adjustability, rather than the 6 of Pazzo. Only thing is they do cost a fair whack too, think I paid around £150 for the set, but money well spent I think.

I hate summer anyway, spend all my money on my bike. The money I don't have because I spent all winter upgrading my PC!

To a 2003 Colin Edwards replica RSV-R:

Handling
K-Tech replacement fork internals for Ohlins forks (resprung & revalved)
Ohlins rear shock revalved and resprung (then replaced)
Custom Penske 3 way adjustable rear shock

Performance
Renegade open carbon fibre airbox & filter
PCIII & map
Akrapovic 2-2 headers & mid-pipes
Smaltmoto 60mm exhaust cans (plus two pairs of baffles - open and quiet)
15t front sprocket
44t rear sprocket

Maintenance
Optimate

Handy
Garmin Zumo 660 & Techmount
Bagster tank protector
Baster tank bag
Ventura luggage rack & luggage
HID dipped front beam

Comfort
Acculign fully adjustable rearsets
Double bubble screen

"Tat"
Black clutch & brake levers

Other than the Optimate (a necessity for RSVs), I favour modifying the bike in the order of comfort, handling, performance, handy and finally tat.

Final category is "rework', where you respray and re-decal your bike from scratch when you make a pillock out of yourself on a new cold rear tyre! I do not wish that experience on anybody.

Without boring the engine out to 1060 then there's not much I want to do to the bike other than ride the thing.
