What makes you think they would?
Would what? That a £100 board doesn't have quality? lol

Product are duty bound to last a certain amount of time. If the manufacturer has sold a product designed to fail in three years then...
You’re build something to a budget in corporate environment. Do you,
A, Build to a budget, cut corners where necessary
B, Focus on quality, hope nobody notices
Answers on a post card..
C) start overcharging just because people equate expensive product is high quality.
What is the difference in motherboard quality from now £400 to 10 years ago £100
Nothing except Nvidia like Tax
Option C, an interesting choice.
Can you explain why cost isn’t a significant factor in engineering?
Still sat here with my z100 kabylake motherboard that was the cheapest in the range back then. How would buying a board at double the price have benefited me?
Do you honestly think a £500 motherboard has any better quality than one at £150?
Do you have any knowledge of electronic components?
Basically they know people are willing to spend that amount and sell it for that.
The extra cost between the two boards is negligible.
You're marketing man's dream lol.
I have an engineering background. Yes, I could build you a significantly better thing for 3x the cost. Shocker I know…
I don't think there are any due to the phased change over to m.2 nvme. If you want more SATA ports, you'll need a conversion board, PCIe or m.2 nvme type that allows you to plug more SATA in.Does anyone know if there are any X870/E boards that support more than 4 SATA's?
You've not understood my post as you are on one. If you don't need features from the more expensive then why buy? Just because it costs 3 times as much doesn't mean it's remotely any better for a use case. You’re conflating deliberate obsolescence through sales and marketing with engineering/technology.
Shocker cost of production and actual retail price has no correlation.
Just a bigger markup that's all. They know people are gullible to spend £500 on a motherbosrd just because it has an extra £30 in extra cost.
Well that’s just like your opinion man.
I’m happy to pay a little more for quality and longevity.

I generally go highend now AMD offer multiple CPU generations and motherboards are no longer a throwaway item every generation or two.
Why do you think the more expensive board will last longer?More copper, better components and probably a lot less bean counting.

It doesn'tAs I've said though the cheapest options last just as long if you don't get a defect... like all components
We are asking about amd motherboardI think I've seen one with 6 SATA ports, probably intel based motherboard.
