What motherboard for 9800x3d and RTX5080

Looks like there's some X670/E motherboards that have 6x SATA ports. So there are some around with that chipset at least. For the X870E, there's only the Taichi boards with 6x SATA onboard.

But if you're going for an AM5 board, you may want the newer X870E boards, as they have been designed with better "stuff" (design, planes, layout, etc) so more stuff work off the bat vs the X670/E boards (which may not work or not work as well, primarily the RAM I'm thinking of right now, but there could be others too).

Take away all the marketing being and names. Buy the board with the interfaces you actually need. The up sell of power phases had long gone.

Probably not but 5000 series are pcie5 cards. Unlikely to use all the bandwidth as current cards don't use all the pcie4 bandwidth, but no one knows until testing is done. Also path tracing is pretty new and that might make some difference in the next couple of years
