What NAS solution

are they quick to transfer over, although i suppose it doesn't really matter too much, how does everyone use theirs? mirrored, jabod, striped?

My QNAP is worth every penny - yeah they aren't cheap but after messing around trying to do it on the cheap I wish I'd given in and bought it earlier. So another vote for Synology or QNAP here (basically different takes on the same core hardware/software).

wouldn't worry about the hijack, think i'd made my mind up by post 8, I did however get freenas working and currently still working as a windows file server, dnla compliant file server and a torrent box

, so i'll be using that side for me but the synology for everyone else in the house
