here's a cat to give you and idea on size:

Oh wow that is spectacular. Now I really am envious.

Do you know why it looks so strange/red/hairy? To flies it resembles a corpse and certainly smells like one. Flies look for an entry point they need a hole in the animal's hide and the tunnel in the centre looks like one they head down there and get covered in pollen. Theres nothing in it for the flies but it gets the job done for the plant.

except that they are not particularly easy to grow and won't survive a severe winter unprotected in many parts of the UK
