what overclock speed do you have your E6300 or E6400 running at ?

Just starting out in the world of overclocking and I would just like to see some feedback on what overclock speed you have these 2 CPU`s running at ?

I am at 3.3GHZ at the minute on a E6400 with temps of 50C but just ordered a Titan Amanda TTC-NP04TZ TEC & Heatpipe Cooling Fan so should no doubt get a litle more out of it.

sure I have read a few posts with people having a E6300 running at 3.6GHZ or is that impossible ?

then again i sure the word impossible wouldn't show up on the search function on this forum :D
 
My 6300 is 3.15GHz, as per sig, cant get it going any higher stable as my RAM doesnt like having any more volts through it and beeps like mad if i loosen the timings any more.

Am pretty happy though as is my first Intel CPU since my old PIII 800.
 
Currently floating mine at 400FSB ( 2.8Ghz )

Been happily running at 500FSB ( 3.5Ghz ) and I had no issues at all apart from temps, so it would quite possibly have gone higher.

This was on 4x512MB Geil 6400 ULL and its now got 4x1GB Geil, so its kind of dispelled the myth of 4 sticks being unable to clock I suppose?
 
My 6300 does about 3.33Ghz (476FSB), running it at 3.15 atm as with 4GB of mem the mobo doesn't like going over 450FSB :)

Mind if i ask what volts?

Mine usualy runs at 3.2ghz fine (460fsb), but at 465 the system goes really unstable.

When my ram gets back from crucial, i will run the system at a stable 3ghz :)

I would not bother TBH

Id stick at 2.8 as you will find that a little faster than 3.0 due to the strap.

I mean, you could try running a few tests at both 2.8 and 3.0 and I think you will find that 2.8 is quicker due to the strap being 1333 instead 1066 and this slows the system down...

So, unless you make a jump and clock it to 430 or more, then its a waste of time, and you might as well stick it to 400FSB max as it will be quicker.

Try it and see.

Then unlink your RAM so that the CPU and RAM run at different FSB's. Unless your mobo cant that is.

As above, if your mobo can do it then unlink your Ram
