what part of your pc do you spend most on?

I don't go out of my way to replace PC parts unless they brake or I think the PC is getting bit slow now - which is normally about 3-4 years after upgrading.

Parts I will spend a lot on:
GPU, CPU/MB, RAM

Other stuff like SSD I view as nice to haves. I'm not going to spend a stupid amount on fast storage when I can run W7 on a 20GB SSD and everything else on a standard 7200rpm

Oh and air cooled - had my Antec case for many years now. Its not quiet but it keeps the room warm in the winter ;)

Most of my desktop PCs have been Shuttle toaster-sized projects, so the barebones kit was the most expensive part. Barebones cane easily be £200.

Now though, I have this! An all-in-one, like those Macs but this is the PC version. 27" :D Got it on credit via the NHS computing scheme for employees.

When I initially built my PC the CPU, motherboard and GPU cost nearly the same within £10 of each other.

But now, I think its the GPU. And if I were to build a new system, it would be GPU's.

Boring, but storage has now overtaken our macs in terms of investment cost. We need it for the business to function, but I much prefer buying things we can actually see :)

Personally, its a new laptop at £1500ish every three years.

GPU > CPU > SSD > Monitor > RAM > Kb > PSU > Mouse > Case > HDDs > 5.1 > Headset > Fans > Wifi Card > Fan Controller > DVD

Think that is everything.
