What PC games are you playing?

After beating my head against the brick wall of the toxic duo in Hades for four or five runs in a row. I decided to take a break from trying to chip away at their obnoxious health bars and on a whim bought and installed Death Stranding in the Epic sale.

It's so clearly a Kojima game. So strange, so atmospheric, so compelling. Really glad I took a chance on it.

Death stranding was an amazing game. Gets better and better as it goes on. Incredibly atmospheric. I was hooked from start to finish.

It is absolutely freaking awesome. I just added the first season pass to get a cart load of DLC for £21. Just finished a mission in Alaska where you have to rescue a truck off a snowy hilltop. Really makes you think. Surprised it hasn’t got it’s own thread, TBH.

Its one of those games that went largely under the radar, possibly because described on paper it ought not to be fun, yet it is, extremely fun and one of the best co-op games I've played

I fired up Half Life 2 last night, only for a quick 5 minute play. But I ended up spending an hour on it. Oh, those were the days. It still looks great all these years later, especially the water and the physics effects. If only games were still made for PC first....

Well if you believe the developers, Cyberpunk was made for PC first! I know that's not exactly what you mean but that particular example didn't turn out so well... :D

FIFA21, doesn't really warrant starting a thread over but I'm finding it a bit annoying how often the keepers get beaten at the near post. Often one of the most effective tactics seems to be running diagonally from a wide position towards the goal and shoot with power high at the near post. Like being Lukas Podolski all the time :D Conversely it's extremely rare I score from set pieces, admittedly I've got a lot to learn about the game but it certainly doesn't seem easy to score freekicks or get in decent headers from corners.

Nearly all games are made for PC first because it's easier to make them on that platform then port them. It's even easier with current consoles because you don't have to scale down as much. Games that don't get released on PC are generally platform exclusives.

Finally got around to playing RDR2, lost hours already just riding around the countryside
I did the same some of the rivers and water falls are so insanely realistic looking.

I kept dumping bodies in the rivers and watching them float along :D

there's a mod that adds persistence to the game too, basically just tracks items and stops things disappearing etc so someone isn;t cleaning up after your mess

This month, I am mostly playing Battletech.. Another masterpiece that has been sitting on my HD since last summer's Steam sales and I just couldn't get into. Having spent the last month playing heavily modded XCOM 2, I am now addicted to Battletech. The more that I play, the deeper the depth in strategy is required.. and that is on normal campaign difficulty!!! Now working on installing the BEX : CE mod and restart the campaign, before reaching the Career mode.
