Hi so i always said that i wouldn't pay for sky just so i can watch F1 and up to a couple of years back watched it on RTL satellite but managed to watch sky for a few hours yesterday and it showed me how much i miss it, so how are you all watching it ?
Thanks

Now TV (Sky). I was also not going to pay but then the rights for the highlights changed so Channel 4 started showing race highlights for some of the races very late in the evening so it became a pain.

Sky via the app on mac and its ******* awful. A mess of DRM and awful quality half the time. You can't change audio sources once you have it started, the quality turns to soup regularly. Its a resource hog. You have to log out and in again if the stream dies usually despite being logged in fine on the website. Takes ages to load the app.

Its genuinely an actual **** take and if it wasn't free for us because we are using my partners dads account we wouldn't even think of paying for it. They are so caught up in making it hard to pirate content that they have made it awful for legitimate customers. It is of course much better quality and stable streaming it from a dodgy source which is stealing it from Sky. Go figure.

I find the Sky app on Mac to be terrible. Most of the time, I’ll run it and it won’t let me watch the F1 channel, telling me I have to upgrade my subscription.

If I delete it, remove the preference file, reboot and then reinstall it, it works.

I don’t disagree but Sky have always been about pushing people towards watching on their box/proper telly I think.

Personally I watch via SkyQ but I get it free from work so :p

If thats how they push me towards their other means of delivery they are a bunch of idiots. I wouldn't even get my internet from Sky as a result of how they treat their paying customers when it comes to accessing the services they have paid for. They've done a great job of putting me off ever giving them any money.

F1TV Pro + VPN here, less than £10/month and can cancel during any breaks/off-season.

They seem to have broken the airplay to LG TV this season though, but I have an Amazon stick which works just fine

Sky Q because even though F1 is my favourite, a) I watch a load of sport like football, NFL and cricket and b) I sometimes record the races or more often qually and watch back in the evening. I'm not a fan of Crofty but the rest of the team are good.

F1TV pro.

Makes Sky look like freeview. I like that they’ll show the FOM feed and have exclusive split screen or pip showing a particular battle.

Oh and the ability to follow a specific driver cam for the entire race or switch commentary if Crofty is doing your head in.

Fancy watching the 2008 British Grand Prix… it’s there. The 2021 title decider? Go for it. Bored of the hybrid era? Chuck on a race from when we had V12/v10/v8.

Lastly… it’s £59 per year.
