Just like what wax, polish, alloy cleaner, glass cleaner etc.

cheers

For washing I still use my Flash car wash system. If the car is properly dirty I give it a blast with a mix of Super Snow Foam with a drop of Megs NXT / Gold Class wash mixed in.

Polish I use Autoglym Super Resin Polish. If I've got a bit of paint that needs extra attention it gets 3M Perfect It followed by 3M Imperial Hand Glaze followed by Super Resin Polish.

If I'm going a proper wax following a polish I'll use Harly Wax (pure carnuba wax). After every wash I at least give it a quick once over with Turtle Wax Wax It Wet.

Alloys get treated to the standard Autoglym Wheel cleaner. I've also got some Mer alloy polish and protect stuff as well as a Turtle wax wheel polish and wax.

Windows just get done with the same stuff I do the bodywork. The insides get a quick once over with whatever my gf has bought to do the windows in the house with.

I was called a noob because sponges ruin the paint work

I always use sponges on mine.

Turtle wash and wax + water

Seems to work, only time i wash my car is when its so bad that it requires about 8-9 buckets of water to clean the whole thing :D

You should use a lamb wool mitt to avoide swirling and rubbing grit into the paint work.

Even though I only use cheepie sponges I've never really had that much trouble with swirls

If I ever get it machine polished (unlikely on this car) I'll make sure I get one though to try and keep it as swirl free as possible.

Megs Gold Class
Autoglym SRP
A couple of waxes depending on temperature,
Turtle wax - Average
F1 Wax - Warm (very hard, impossible to buff if cold)
Spray wax - Very hot or very cold (very easy but doesn't last too long)
Megs NXT Wax - cool (easy to buff)

use a halfords wool mit to wash and netto / aldi microfibres for rest

There is nothing wrong with sponges....providing you keep it in good condition and dont drop it on the floor.
