Guys im thinking about going up to quad core now and i beleive my board supports this.

However i do not know what processor will work on my board , so any advice and help would be great and ofcourse recommendations :)

Thanks in advance

Stevie

Simple choice would be the Q6600, but a current prices, they aren't as attractive; still the cheapest quad going.

Just checked your mobo, looks like it only supports 65nm CPUs, so yeah Q6600 is your only real option.

so any Q6600 will do ? as there is quite a few on the OCUK page. , i was toying with you know a full upgrade of mobo/ram/cpu etc... but then noticed the board does support Quad.

thanks for your reply.

Yeah im sure these cpu where cheaper than stated now. Thought something had changed, but aslong as the Q6600 will defo work with my board. :)

All the Q6600s on OcUK are EXACTLY the same, they just guarentee they will run at the different speeds which is what you pay the extra for. If you buy the stock, you cannot complain if it doesn't do 3.3GHz but if you read around, you'll see 3.3GHz on air with a good custom CPU cooler is very viable.

As for the price, bought mine back in June for £116 inc VAT - give you an idea of the price increase.
