@paradigm - Regarding the iffy 3dfx V3 I sent you, I think at this point I'm quite happy to just let you keep it if you're happy with that. Based on what you've done already, it's probably going to be a faff to fix (if it even can be). Perhaps you could use it for parts down the line?

Completely up to you mate, if you want it back then I'm happy to send it, it's yours afterall! If not then yes I'd keep it as parts for any other Voodoo 3's that are poorly!

Yeah you keep it, you put some effort into fixing it (plus the cost of a few replacement caps) so think it's only fair. I got lucky recently with that 'faulty' V2, so I have a card I can use for Glide-based stuff now. Thanks for taking a look though!

Whats the best place to buy good quality genuine caps etc, want to avoid the junk.

Just go straight to Farnell, RS or DigiKey.

Preferably you want Nichicon, Rubycon or Panasonic.

I got triggered at losing another auction and am now winning that voodoo 2 with the pink screen for a lot more than I feel its worth with its issues. Although its still cheaper than I sold my voodoo 2s for.

My games bundle arrived today and I have to say the seller undersold these. Especially the 3 bigbox games. They are all like new with all the manuals and warranty cards still inside. Very happy with my TTDLX, the disk doesnt even look used!

£34 is fine at the moment, you are looking around £80 - 100 for a fully working 12mb card. Post some pics up of the big box games!

Yep they are pretty bulging and nasty!

Fortunately recapping motherboard size caps is pretty straight forward!

I’m more confused why one board doesn’t have the two blue RAM slots, given the manual references them as the ones to use for dual-channel operation!
