Thought it was going to be an easu choice, but it seems some don't have full maps, some are slow, some don't have postcode search, others don't have points of interest, some no expandable memory and some don't have bluetooth to link to your phone!!

So what's got everything and is cheap.

I've heard good things about Navigo, but want something very simple to use as it will be used by the whole family - and some aren't "technically gifted"

thanks

I just got a Navman s30... was £100, can find it for that most places :)

I really cant fault it! Was used to using a TomTom, but this is quite similar!

So far i feel it has been slightly better with addresses for me, i use postcode then house number and it usually comes up with it!

So either TomTom or Navman... Garman was rubbish! :(

I got a Garmin 610T free when I changed phone contract. It only had UK and Ireland maps on, until I went on the Garmin site and received a free upgrade to all of Europe. I really like it (to say it was free, kid of). Bluetooth support (with phonebook support), postcode search, POI's are a little annoying as you have to add a file from your computer, rather than just set them yourself on the go. SD card slot, can even get multi-lingual dictionaries and audio books for travelling.

i bought a navigo when they were £50, as long as you don't mind spending a while "setting" it up its excellent :p

The basic software for Navigo is rubbish

For basic navigation from all the big players, TomTom, Navman and Garmin are pretty good. If you don't need asll the fancy stuff like Text to Speech etc go to halfords or somewhere like that and have a play with them all.

The fancy stuff like traffic and text to speech etc differs between all of them, but thjey are all again pretty good, just depends on what you like.

I find the Garmin Nuvi series very good. If you can wait until the end of the month, the new ones with built in traffic detection and redirection are out at around £150...

sorry what is text to speech?

As in it doesn't say the directions to you?

i have used tomtom, garmin and navman.. prefer the tomtom by a mile even the build quality and battery life is better although i don't like the way it sticks to the window (ususally drops off after an hour lol)

I've tried TomTom, Navman and some Route 66 thing.

I could highly recommend the TomTom or Navman. Any models, just depends on what features you need or want.

Tom Tom seems well recommeneded, but expensive.

Navigo anyone had experience?

Mines due to arrive before 12 noon so I'll let you know later. All ive seen ar epositive reviews for it though. Apparently, its very easy to install TomTom software onto it, although I've also heard that the software it ships with is damn good anyway.
